Comedian Jimmy Dore was the talk of the town on January 24 after he angered a lot of people on social media for praising the Boogaloo Boys. Members of the anti-fascist movement — gun-toting, heavily armed men who identify themselves as "Boogaloo Boys" — started creating a disturbance in the wake of George Floyd's death as they demanded a second civil war. Dore came across as "politically confused", according to his recent tweets.

Taking to Twitter, he wrote, "I interviewed a member of the Boggaloo Boys, I was completely floored when he said he is: -Pro LGBTQ -Pro Black Lives Matter -Anti Police Brutality -Anti Racism -Anti ICE -Anti War WTF?!?!" he tweeted, adding a link to a YouTube video of "Radicalized Michigan Anarchist Seeks Unity With The Left".

Twitter has since called out Dore for his insensitive tweets. "I interviewed a scorpion, I was completely floored when he said he is: -Pro frog -Pro not stinging me -Pro just getting across the river -Anti drowning WTF?!?!?! I am very stupid," one user wrote when replying to the comedian.

"I interviewed a member of the Cannibals Unite Party, I was completely floored when he said he is: Vegan Has never tasted meat Bet it would taste best with a nice salt rub Boy you look tasty Would you mind getting into this vat of butter?" another added in a similar fashion. "Do you think that he was politically confused? Why does he associate with a far right group when he claims to have far left ideas?" another tweeted.

It was earlier reported that members of the Boogaloo Boys movement are largely gun enthusiasts, who first began making their references on sites like 4chan, but they have since become more prominent on social media sites, particularly Facebook, where they recruit members. According to Vice, although the Boogaloo groups attempt to portray themselves as allies of the Black Lives Matter movement, they typically tend to avoid addressing police brutality as an issue linked to race.

Twitter cannot stand his opinions on this one. "Jimmy, as a big fan of yours, this is a bad take," one tweeted. "Lord grant me the guilelessness of a less-than-mediocre white Christian man," another added.

Many even ripped him apart on facts. "I don't believe them, but let's just say they're telling the truth & not just bullshitting for attention & trying to co-opt left spaces... libertarians/ancaps are *still* economic right wingers. All that your list above is telling me is that they are somewhat progressive on," a user tweeted.

The user added, "some social issues, but ultimately on economic issues, they believe in the same anti-worker policies/low wages, exploitation of the global south, austerity policies, 'free market' bs etc... all of which eventually lead us to where we are with police brutality, imperialism, & Hate against minorities and immigrants which many believe are to blame for their low wages and lost jobs. These are not allies. It is dangerous to not make these connections."

Not surprisingly, there were also those who supported him. "They've always been that. The media slander of the Boog as a 'far right' group is a baseless, and easily debunked, slander."
