OREGON, UNITED STATES: Colescott Rubin, a 27-year-old circus performer and musician from Oregon, brought a unique and entertaining performance to the 'American Idol' Season 22 auditions. With an upright bass in hand, he sang a whimsical song about his partner and peanut butter. Accompanied by another person playing a muted bugle, the act was quirky and stood out.

While Rubin received plenty of cheers and engagement from the judges, unfortunately, he did not secure a ticket to Hollywood. Despite the positive feedback, the judges felt that his charm and entertaining act were not enough to advance in the competition.

Only Katy Perry seemed particularly impressed, stating, "It's a no for Idol, but a yes for me." Despite the setback, Rubin's performance showcased his creativity and talent as a musician and circus performer. Although he won't be moving forward in American Idol, he left a lasting impression with his distinctive act, blending humor and music on the audition stage.

Colescott Rubin can perform in sleep

Colescott Rubin has a fascinating talent – he creates art in his sleep. Imagine this: he can write songs, come up with lyrics, and even craft jokes, all while he's sound asleep. What's even more intriguing is that he dreams about his performances before they actually happen.

Born in 1996 in Santa Rosa, California, Colescott's artistic roots run deep. His mother, Tamara Rubin, is a single parent who works as a Lead poisoning prevention activist and documentary filmmaker.

Colescott's early exposure to the world of music came from family outings to concerts in Golden Gate Park and summer music festivals all across California. His musical journey started at the tender age of five when he began taking violin lessons.

Who stars in 'American Idol' Season 22?

The judging panel for Season 22 of the singing competition will feature the familiar faces of Katy Perry, Luke Bryan, and Lionel Richie. This trio, along with the longtime host Ryan Seacrest, has been a consistent presence since the show's relaunch on ABC in 2018.

However, Perry has recently hinted that Season 22 might mark her final stint on 'Idol.' During an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel, she expressed that this season could be by her last, implying a potential departure from the judging role. Perry's statement has sparked attention and raised questions about the future composition of the judging panel.
