The Bachelorette': Clare Crawley calls Dale Moss her 'fiance', does that mean they were engaged before filming?

During a segment of tonight's episode, fans caught Clare referring to Dale as her "fiance". It was just day 3 since the show began filming and the incident has sparked wild rumors

Everything is so messy on Season 16 of 'The Bachelorette'. It's just been three weeks since the show started airing with Clare Crawley at the center of it and 31 men have come in to have a shot at impressing, making her fall in love, and eventually marrying her. Clare was looking for a husband – she was clear at the start – but she went a little overboard when she declared on Night 1 that she felt she just met her husband after she had a 2-minute conversation with Dale Moss. 

Since episode 1, every other sentence that falls out of her mouth is about Dale. She has continued waxing poetic about him since premiere night and continued to do so even in the recent episode. She declared that he "just shows up" whenever she was down, however it'd just been three days of them filming the show together. In the recent episode, during the roast, the suitors came down hard upon Dale, especially Bennett who had way too many jokes for him and his list just didn't seem to end. Clare took offense here, she felt it was insulting for Dale to having have sat through all of those jokes while the rest of them hooted and cheered hard for Bennett. It was then where Clare said, "I don't think I can sit there and go, 'You dished on my fiance so hard,'" in a conversation with a producer. However, IT WAS JUST THREE DAYS OF THEM BEING TOGETHER. All of this didn't add up and audiences started freaking out immediately asking if they missed the proposal while they refreshed their wine. 

"Wondering if this season is all scripted?! #TheBachelorette. She said, "my fiance" like all the men knew this was his title!! Something isn't right with this .. other than Clare being a crazy loon!" wrote a fan. "I can’t believe they just roasted my fiancé like that” WTFFFFFF IS GOING ON. For a woman is so avid about respect, she doesn’t have any," wrote another. "Oh, and come on Clare is a little cray she already called Dale her fiancé. It’s been like 4 days girl #TheBachelorette," wrote another."You already Calling him your fiance like how low can that go with the rest of the guys still there with no clue to what's going on in your head. @Clare_Crawley you are low girl!" read another tweet. 

'The Bachelorette' airs Tuesdays at 8 pm ET on ABC.
