LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Phase 5 of Marvel is gathering all the steam as new movies are lining up. There is the possibility of seeing new villains in the upcoming year. 'Captin America' featuring Chris Evans' Steve Rogers ended by making way for the Falcon's storyline. The aftermath of Disney+'s 'Falcon and the Winter Soldier' saw Sam Wilson taking over the mantle of Captain America. As part of the MCU's Phase 5, 'Captain America: New World Order' will continue with Wilson as the new Captain.

With young avengers taking over to become the Earth's mightiest heroes, many villains still need to enter the MCU. While the comics have a bundle of them, the creators have other plans for the audience. With Sam Wilson continuing the legacy of Rogers, 'Captain America 4' will be centered around him. There have been rumors that the new movie is going to deliver on Kevin Feige's joke about 'Civil War' by introducing the infamous Serpent Society to the MCU.

Serpent Society slithering into MCU

The Serpent Society is a villain team created by Sidewinder. The successful team of foes came together in response to the Avengers and Fantastic Four. The team includes villains and criminals like Diamondback, Cobra, Viper, Anaconda, Black Mamba, Asp, and many more. As per new reports by ScreenRant, the fourth Captain America film will mark the entry of the society formed for a much darker purpose into the MCU.

During 'The Hot Mic' podcast, Jeff Sneider said, "Not only will Harrison Ford's Thunderbolt Ross transform into the Red Hulk, but Julia Louis-Dreyfus' Val will be secretly backing the Serpent Society to recover a metal just as powerful as Wakanda's vibranium." The auditions for Diamondback, an important member of the villain society, have begun.

Is Kevin Feige's joke paying off?

MCU head Kevin Feige made a joke in 2014 during the Marvel Studios' Phase 3 announcement event at the El Capitan theater. He claimed that the third Captain America movie would be subtitled Serpent Society before revealing the actual title of 'Civil War'. With 'Captain America: New World Order' set to release in May 2024, rumors flooding in about the entry of Serpent Society suggest Marvel may deliver on Feige's joke. The Serpent Society having a secret connection to Val would certainly be a dynamic way to finally debut the team in the MCU.
