NAUGATUCK, CONNECTICUT: A Connecticut father suspected of killing and mutilating his 11-month-old daughter was reportedly arrested after two weeks on the run. Christopher Francisquini, 31, was detained on Friday, December 2, 2022, after a passerby recognized him from television coverage and phoned the police. He was detained at a bus stop in Waterbury. Francisquini is charged with murdering his infant daughter Camilla on November 18, 2022, at his home in Naugatuck.

Francisquini was reportedly issued a $5 million bond after he was charged with murder with special circumstances and risk of injury to a minor. His criminal history is extensive, and he has been found guilty of offenses like carjacking and assault. The father allegedly killed his baby girl while on parole for an assault charge from 2012, and before running away, he reportedly ripped off his GPS ankle tracker, as per New York Daily News.

According to the police, Francisquini strangled Camila before stabbing and dismembering her. Investigators believe that after the murder, the suspect got into an argument with Camila's mother, who was not aware of Camila's death, before destroying her cellphone, severing his GPS ankle tracker, and fleeing in a 2006 Chevy Impala. Camila's body was eventually discovered by a relative. Her death was determined to be the result of stab wounds and neck compressions. The automobile Francisquini fled in was discovered abandoned off Interstate 91.

Shocking video from the arrest showed Francisquini being surrounded by cops as he stood at a bus stop on Friday at 3 o'clock. The police surrounded him and demanded he gets on the ground as they drew their weapons. Cops placed Francisquini in handcuffs after he complied. Prior to his arrest, the $10,000 prize for information that led to his capture was increased to $25,000 from the initial posting.

According to police, information about Francisquini's sighting was submitted via the department's anonymous tip hotline. Naugatuck Police Department said in a statement, "Francisquini's capture is a clear example of what can be accomplished when community members work with law enforcement to take dangerous individuals off the street." They added, "Within 28 hours of asking the public's help, he was taken into custody without incident and will now face justice," Daily Mail reported.

Camilla, who would have turned one on Saturday, December 3, 2022, was laid to rest in a private ceremony surrounded by family and loved ones on Saturday, November 26, as reported earlier by MEAWW
