Christine Maria Fenner: Police post $500,000 reward for information on mom who went missing in 1999
QUEENSLAND, AUSTRALIA: Christine Maria Fenner, a Queensland mother, disappeared nearly 24 years ago in 1999. Now, Queensland police have announced a reward of $500,000 in order to find Fenner, who was living in Booyal, southwest of Bundaberg, during the time of her disappearance. If alive, Fenner would now be aged 72.
Fenner was residing with her de-facto husband Mark Graham when she went missing. Graham said that he was away for almost four hours with their neighbours to help with their shifting and when he returned, Fenner was not home. She left behind her "cigarettes, bank books and even her shoes" when she went missing. Graham, who is now deceased, said during the investigation that Fenner had disappeared like this before but had always come back home.

Christine Maria Fenner was in poor health
According to a 2008 report, Fenner was in poor health and had an argument with her partner, just a night before she mysteriously disappeared. “The relationship was generally described by most to be good. Ms. Fenner described herself as happy in that relationship,” the court report stated. According to Fenner's missing report, she "had brown hair, green eyes and a blue scroll/green heart tattoo on her left shoulder. She also had a scar on her left shoulder."
'Mom was very much loved'
In an interview with 7News, her son William Fenner talked about her mother. He said that his mother "was very much loved," adding, "Over the years, the impact that has had on our lives has been more far-reaching as a family than ever we could imagine." Her family remember her as someone who brought laughter and happiness into their lives. William said that her mother's last wish was to scatter her remains in Fremantle, Australia. “We’d like to have that ceremony and give her that respect. I’m just asking to really tap into the consciousness of the person and their heart and try and relate to how they would feel with their family if one of their family members went missing," he added.
In a 2021 interview with News Idea, her daughter Cindy remembered how Fenner raised her children "single-handedly" and said, “Family meant everything to mum. She loved us, was in a happy relationship and adored being grandma to my two kids, who were little at the time. She had everything to live for.”
