Meghan Markle's 'Deal or No Deal' co-star Chrissy Teigen thinks royal exit was a power move: 'It's fantastic'
Chrissy Teigen spoke out in support of her former 'Deal or No Deal' co-star, Meghan Markle's decision to step down from royal duties.
At the Canadian entertainment show 'etalk', Teigen, 34, said, "I’m so excited for them … I’m a big royals fan and I love Meghan!"
“I love their power move of being able to just do what they want — to take a look at their family and just do what’s best for their family. I think that’s fantastic," the Cravings cookbook author added.
Teigen and the Duchess of Sussex, 38, were briefcase models on 'Deal or No Deal'. Teigen was part of eight episodes that aired between 2007 and 2008 while the duchess was part of 34 episodes between 2006 and 2007. They had reunited during the Super Bowl weekend in 2014 where they competed on DirecTV’s 'Beach Bowl', a celebrity flag football game.
This isn't the first time Teigen has spoken out in support of her former co-star, Meghan. In November 2018, she told Daily Mail, "I am especially a fan of Meghan, I was on Deal or No Deal with her and she was lovely. Everyone asks me what she was like and I say, ‘Sorry, no dirt. She’s gorgeous.'"
Meghan and her husband Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex, 38, had recently announced that they would be stepping back from their senior royal duties, putting their families first. Planning to "work to become financially independent" the couple now lives in Vancouver with their adorable son Archie, who is nine months of age. The couple said they would be splitting their time between the UK and North America.
On Wednesday, February 19, Us Weekly confirmed that the couple will officially step down from their royal duties on March 31, 2020, and are working to launch a nonprofit organization in the future as they plan to visit their former home, the UK “regularly.”
Omid Scobie, the royal correspondent, had shared that the couple will be attending the annual Endeavour Fund Awards on March 5, 2020, and the Mountbatten Festival of Music at London’s Royal Albert Hall on March 7, 2020.
A source revealed to Us that the Duke is "much happier in Canada" and that Markle is currently " actively looking for representation.”
