Triple murderer Chris Watts reportedly speaks every day to photos of his murdered pregnant wife Shanann and their two daughters — Bella and Celeste — that he keeps with him in his prison cell.
In the February confession that was recorded inside the Dodge Correctional Institution, Wisconsin, 33-year-old Watts told investigators from the FBI, CBI, and a member of the Frederick Police Department that he reads a book to his daughters every night and also reads The Bible.
The newly released audio recording of the confession that took place on February 18 reveals the disturbing details of the murders of 34-year-old Shanann, four-year-old Bella, and three-year-old Celeste.

Watts' voice can be heard trembling at times in the recording where Watts confessed that he strangled Shanann's body into the bed of his truck before he drove to an oil field where he killed both his daughters before dumping all three bodies, PEOPLE reported.
Watts said in the recording: "[Celeste] was first." Older sister Bella sat just inches from her sister as the younger one was smothered to death with her favorite New York Yankees blanket. The killer father used the same blanket to kill Bella as well. Watts told authorities that he hadn't planned the murders and that "every time he sees pictures of Bella and Celeste, he doesn’t understand how it all could have happened".
According to the report by the CBI, Watts said that he has "pictures of his wife and daughters in his prison cell and he talks to them every morning and every night". A previous report by MEA WorldWide (MEAWW) stated that Watts now regrets what he did and even said at one point how differently things could have happened.
He said in the recording: "Right now I’d have a 5-year-old...a 3-year-old...and more than likely, a one-month-old son...and a beautiful wife...and right now it’s just me."
The surveillance video that was taken on his neighbor's camera shows Watts looking like he walked one of his daughters to the car on the morning that he killed her.
Shanann reportedly told her husband after he confessed about his affair: "You’re never gonna see the kids again … you’re never gonna see them again … get off me … don’t hurt the baby."
At the time this conversation happened, Watts was straddling Shanann's body and she initially thought that he wanted to have sex again. He said in the recording: "Every time I think about it, I’m just like, did I know I was going to do that before I got on top of her? Everything that happened that morning I just don’t — I don’t know… like, I try to go back in my head… I didn’t want to do this, but I did it... it just felt like there was already something in my mind that was implanted that I was gonna do it and when I woke up that morning, it was gonna happen and I had no control over it."
In the last few days before he was transferred to his current prison in Wisconsin, Watts actually thought that he was going to die. MEAWW previously reported that he also said in the recording that he found God at that time. He said: "I never knew I could have a relationship with God like I do now...it’s like the amazing grace with all of this, but I just wish nobody had to pay any kind of price for this...I know there is a purpose for everybody, I just hope I can find mine."
