NEW YORK, NEW YORK: A former NYPD cop and his wife are keeping houses free of ‘evil spirits'. The couple was recently filmed cleaning up a New York home as its occupants claimed that a child is being ‘tormented.’ Chris DeFlorio and his wife Harmony got to the business immediately after they were called upon, facing startling encounters with the entity.

Its victim is Javier, who says in the promo video, “The person has long legs ... he is black. I think what he wants to do to me is kill me ... because it never leaves... I think I am going to die.” The demonologists Chris and Harmony arrived at the Williamsburg’s home at the behest of filmmaker Shannon Alexander. His documentary will be premiered at the Hot Doc’s Toronto Film Festival on April 29. 'When Harmony and I heard a child was involved we pretty much ran right over,' Chris told the Daily Mail. Alexander approached DeFlorio in August 2022, when he was shooting a documentary on the family with a focus on sleep paralysis as the subject. However, they noticed strange paranormal activity taking place, such as audible voices, and large black shadow figures walking around the house, among other activities.

'It is something you can't explain in words'

"When Shannon called, it was obvious to me that he was shaken up a little by the footage" said DeFlorio. Talking about how he could feel something was wrong after reaching the house, DeFlorio said, “It is something you can't explain in words but a feeling you never forget after the first time you're exposed to it. The former police officer had to deploy special equipment to confirm his suspicions, and there was no delay in picking up outlines and mapping of a spirit on my device. Alarms were going off on devices programmed to pick up energy in that local area.”

'Voices recorded that were demonic sounding'

The filmmaker Alexander said, “[He] did not plan for this story to unfold the way it did. The story was initially about sleep paralysis but evolved into the family being afflicted by the demonic. It was an accumulation of weird things that I finally decided were not coincidental. Lights cutting out and weird shadowy figures moving across the screen.” He continued, “I witnessed camera and audio equipment would be moving towards Ashley almost attacking her. In playback and editing of the footage, there were sounds of hissing and voices recorded that were demonic sounding.”
