In Part 3 of 'Chilling Adventures of Sabrina', Sabrina Spellman(Kiernan Shipka) has been crowned the Queen of Hell but things all go south when the Pagans move to Greendale and start wreaking havoc. At the end of Part 2, with Lucifer's defeat, Sabrina's coven has found themselves deity-less.

And so, in Part 3, the coven starts to lose its magical power. Sabrina and her aunts, Zelda (Miranda Otto) and Hilda Spellman ( Lucy Davis) try different methods to regain their power. Ultimately, when Zelda visits the Nether realm, she realizes that only the ancient goddess Hecate can restore their magic. In the midst of all this, however, other members of the coven start to lose hope. Among them, Melvin (Tyler Cotton) and another witch go to the pagans hoping that they might be able to help the witches. Unfortunately, the second witch is slaughtered and sacrificed by the pagans in order to feed the seed of the Green Man.

This isn't the first time Melvin found himself in danger. In Part 2, he was kidnapped and killed by the witch-hunters, however, Sabrina was able to resurrect him -- one of the first indications that Sabrina is not a normal witch. We would later learn that she was Lucifer's daughter.

A still from 'Chilling Adventures of Sabrina' Part 2 (Netflix)

Cotton promised Part 3 is indeed darker, sexier and has more magic as fans would have realized when the episodes dropped on Netflix on January 24th. He said Part 3 "tackles way bigger problems that are so amazing."

For the role of Melvin, Cotton said, "I really delved into the world of witchcraft, researching the history and beliefs. I read countless articles and books about what each symbol meant and about witchcraft in modern culture."

Cotton also spoke about his death and resurrection scenes from Part 2. He said, "That was an intense scene to film personally. Melvin dies and not in the nicest way so for 16 hours I was dying over and over again which takes its emotional toll. That scene was also very difficult to film technically too just because the makeup prosthetics for when Melvin starts burning up takes so long to apply."

Fans would have gauged that the young cast members have a lot of fun based on the actors' social media posts. Cotton says he loves each cast member and that he felt welcomed into the family since day one, saying, "I have so many amazing memories with each and every one of them. I can’t wait to continue to make more and more."

Besides filming for Part 4 of 'Chilling Adventures of Sabrina', Cotton currently has a short film in post-production and is also writing a few scripts.

All episodes of Part 3 of 'Chilling Adventures of Sabrina' are now streaming on Netflix.
