'Chilling Adventures of Sabrina' Part 3 Episode 2: Sabrina's new reign as Queen upends the status quo in Hell
Spoiler Alert follows for 'Chilling Adventures of Sabrina' Part 3!
Sabrina may have reluctantly taken up her role as the Queen of Hell, but she has to jump headfirst into her responsibilities as Lillith tasks her with guiding the damned souls to Hell.
Unfortunately, the first soul she's assigned -- Robert Robertson -- is an innocent enough old man. The only mistake he made is that he traded his soul in order to be the best chess player in the world. And so, instead of leading him to his ride to Hell, Sabrina instead persuades him to take the ride to Heaven -- angering the three Kings and Caliban, the so-called Prince of Hell. Lillith -- though she admonishes Sabrina -- defends her and gives her the next soul to collect.
This happens to be the seemingly innocent ice cream man, Jimmy Platt. However, on speaking with him, she realizes he is more villainous than she thought him to be. He asks Sabrina for seven more years, in exchange for an innocent soul -- and for him, this means the soul of a little girl. Sabrina -- with Roz's help -- sets out to save Lucy, only to get trapped in the freezer with her. Lillith comes to Sabrina's rescue, again. This time, Sabrina manages to trap Platt and drag him back to hell.
Sabrina did have other plans for Platt -- she wanted to use his body as a prison for her father, Lucifer, so she could free Nick. But, Sabrina has other priorities now and while giving Platt's body to Hell for torture, she tells the three Kings that her father's ways "are broken" and announces that the "reformation of Hell starts now."
While Sabrina may think her troubles may be over, for now, she does not get much time to relax when she goes back home. Her aunts, Hilda and Zelda have figured out that Sabrina brought Nick -- and with him, Lucifer -- back from Hell. Lucifer, who is angered that the witches are now praying to Lillith, unleashes his own trickery, trying to cause mayhem. Meanwhile, Ambrose and Prudence come back from their quest, with Faustus Blackwood in their arms. Blackwood's return means that Prudence and Ambrose can put a stop to his plans -- for now -- and gives Sabrina a body to put her father in.
Ambrose and Prudence also bring with them the egg that Blackwood got from the Loch Ness river -- and what hatches could mean something quite terrible for the Spellmans -- something worse than Lucifer, something worse than pagan monsters.
For now, however, things are seemingly back to normal, until Roz and Harvey discover that there's a carnival is in town.
