'Drag event' at Club SATAN erupts after 11-year-old PERFORMER'S 'drag mom' suspected of being a pedo
EUGENE, OREGON: A ‘drag queen story event’ sparked a fierce clash among armed demonstrators outside an Oregon Pub which was slated to include an 11-year-old drag performer whose former "drag mom" is a suspected pedophile. The event witnessed a strong 200-people crowd outside the pub in Eugene on Sunday, with some of the demonstrators armed with guns including semi-automatic rifles.
Despite the chaotic outbreak outside the pub, the Brunch show carried on. However, the 11-year child performer whose stage name is Vanellope MacPherson DuPont did not perform at the event. The huge backlash comes after it emerged that a woman who claims to be one of Vanellope’s "drag moms," Kelsey Meta Boren, was charged earlier this year with three child sex offenses.

The 31-year-old drag mom, Boren was arrested after she allegedly sent child pornography online. She was arraigned in August and currently remains in custody. Boren has posted several photos of herself with the Vanellope on Instagram, with some referring to her as "my drag kid." Protesters against the event faced off with supporters outside the venue, Old Nick’s Pub. The club which is named after Satan also holds events such as adult fetish nights.
Angry demonstrators at the event on Sunday, October 23, held 'lob projectiles’ and even threw smoke grenades at the rival crowd. Supporters of the event shouted "go home Nazis" and carried a banner that read, "Protect trans youth." Meanwhile, counter-protesters had a sign which read, "What kind of monster exposes kids to this?" They also shouted, "save our children" at the supporters. Eugene Police Department said it created "security plans" for the event prior to it taking place "because opposing groups were communicating plans to attend, possibly armed," reported Daily Mail. Later it was confirmed that "firearms were reported present in both groups."

The alleged outbreak began after a Facebook post of a child drag performer wearing heavy makeup and a costume, shared by Old Nick's Pub faced huge criticism. The said Facebook post included a series of pictures announcing an event at their brunch show featuring an 11-year-old drag performer Vanellope Craving, whose real name is Hannahlyn Engelson. "With all the charm and sweetness of a bowl of sugary cereal, Vanellope is here to brighten up your morning with all her drag talent," read the post. Vanellope’s family and a friend posted a statement that claimed the relationship with Boren was strictly "professional" and they only met "maybe four or five times."
"Meta-Boren was not a family friend, nor was she ever a mentor for V in the drag world," read the statement. "They, also, have not had any contact since before covid, and all ties have been severed as of the time of Meta-Boren’s arrest in August." Vanellope's mother Jennifer Hibbs who is also a drag performer who goes by the stage name Sunshine Ray MacPherson said, "Her actual mother does her choreography so that it's all appropriate. We wouldn't let her do anything suggestive… it's terrible that people assume that we would let her do that."
