SEOUL, SOUTH KOREA: Drawing inspiration from the Navar webtoon of the same name, the most recent comedy mystery series to premiere on Netflix, 'Chicken Nugget' presents a bizarre plotline that amalgamates elements of enigma and comedy.
Written and directed by Lee Byeong-heon, the plotline follows the story of a businessman named Choi Seon-man (Ryu Seung-ryong), who has invented a strange machine.
Seon-man's life is turned upside down when his beloved daughter Choi Min-ah (Kim Yoo-jung) enters the machine and transforms into a chicken nugget.
The plot continues as he recruits his intern, Go Baek-joong (Ahn Jae-hong), to assist him in his mission to reanimate his daughter.
Baekjung admits that he is an alien in 'Chicken Nugget' Episode 9
There was always an air of mystery about Baekjung (Kim Tae-hoon) and his team since they were struggling to get their hands on the machines.
It is when Baekjung requests Seon-man to let him assist with the machines that the true nature of their identities becomes apparent.
When Yoo In-won (Yoo Seung-mok) inquired about his eligibility to use the machine, the man did not reveal anything but it was apparent that he is not a human.
He eventually admits, however, that he is an alien and that they have been on Earth since the period of feudal Korea.
But In-won forbids Baekjung from approaching the machinery and demands that he use his abilities to demonstrate his extraterrestrial status.
Baekjung decides to take the machine to space station in 'Chicken Nugget' Episode 9
Following the rule that he will suffer the repercussions if he uses his powers on an ordinary person, the guy declines to use his power, which only serves to strengthen In-won's argument that Baekjung is lying.
Not too long later, In-won, Go Baek-joong, Choi Seon-man, and his nephew Yoo Tae-man (Jeong Seung-gil) engage in a fight.
Baekjung, fed up with the prolonged conflict, eventually unleashes his powers, prompting Seon-man and Baek-joong to ask him for his help.
The alien informs them that taking the machines to a space station for an emergency reserve is the only option to revive them because they have run out of energy.
He goes on to say that in order to transform Choi Min-ah back into a human, he should take her to his planet. However, the catch is that one day on his planet equals 50 years on Earth, leaving Seon-man devastated.
Ultimately, with tears in his eyes, Seon-man makes the courageous decision to send Min-ah with Baekjung.
