'Chicago Fire' Season 8: When will Episode 13 air and could Commissioner Grissom make a comeback?
The latest episode of 'Chicago Fire' will not air on NBC this week. All three shows in the 'Chicago' franchise have gone on a scheduled one-week break and will return in the first week of February.
However, a synopsis and a promo for the upcoming episode has been released. In Episode 13, we will finally see a new fire truck being assigned to Firehouse 51. However, while it brings joy to the firefighters, chaos ensues.
Meanwhile, Chief Wallace Boden and Lt Kelly Severide are asked to make peace with an old foe for the greater good. We currently have two guesses as to who that might be. It could be Gail MacLeod, who was tasked with cutting the budget for the fire department by 10% and targeted Firehouse 51. She even tried to force Chief Boden to retire.
But it could also be Commissioner Carl Grissom who served as a primary antagonist in Season 6. Before he became the Commissioner, it was discovered that he was faking response time statistics.
We will also see paramedic Sylvie Brett receive some family news. Promotional pictures for the episode suggest that it is not good news and shows Brett at what looks like a funeral. It also looks like Matthew Casey will be accompanying her.
However, what the most exciting and nerve-wracking part of the episode could be the rescue mission the firefighters will be on next week. It involves a case of not one, but multiple people hanging on to each other, trying not to fall into a flowing river. In the promo for the episode, while the firefighters are trying to pull a risky maneuver to save them, it looks like one of them could slip and endanger the whole mission.
'Chicago Fire' airs on NBC on Wednesday nights. The next episode will air on February 5.
