'Chicago PD' Season 7 Episode 17 isn't airing this week, but here's what to expect when the NBC drama returns
'ChiHards' will be disappointed to learn that there won't be new episodes of the 'Chicago' franchise airing tonight (March 11). The one week break is one of the many scheduled breaks through the season and all three shows will return next week.
Episode 17 of Season 7 of 'Chicago PD' will air on March 18th on NBC at 10/9c.
The next episode will feature Sgt. Hank Voight (Jason Beghe) and his Intelligence Unit being forced to work with the Homicide Unit in a high-profile case. When teams have to share cases, especially when they are teams that do not get along, more often than not, feuds will be ignited.
This is presumably what goes on to happen as Voight and the lead detective of the Homicide Unit clash on how to handle the case. Voight is known for taking less-than-desirable actions to solve cases; he sometimes enacts justice on his own when he feels the need and he sometimes manipulates others into doing it.
Case in point, when Voight let Sean Roman (Brian Geraghty) off the hook for killing a drug dealer who was responsible for Roman's younger sister's death. Or when Voight leaked the name of a child murderer to gangs so that the cops could get away with locking up an innocent man (who later died after being attacked in the county jail).
In this episode, Voight enlists the help of a reformed gang member to get a key witness' testimony in a murder case, however, more lives are put on danger as a gang war brews.
Usually, Voight's actions end up being justified more often than not. Whether that happens this time as well, we will have to wait and see. The preview for the episode shows Voight and the head detective of Homicide brawling at a crime scene.
'Chicago PD' airs on NBC on Wednesday nights at 10/9c. The next episode will air on March 18.
