'Chicago PD' Season 7 Episode 14 will focus on Vanessa Rojas as Intelligence helps track down a fugitive
Last week's episode of 'Chicago PD' was a tough one as many viewers agreed, the writers went too far with the plotline involving Kim Burgess.
To recap, Burgess -- who was pregnant and assigned to desk duty -- got involved in a case involving a sex-trafficking ring and she tried her best with the rest of the Intelligence Unit to crack the case and free the girls.
When Burgess did not find the girl who called 911 among the girls PD rescued, she went in search of her after she got a phone call from the victim. She reached the location and waited for backup to arrive. However, when she heard the girl being confronted by her tormentor, Burgess rushed in. What ensued was a rough and brutal scene where the culprit beat up Burgess -- punched her in the stomach and bashed her head against the floor.
Burgess managed to overcome her pain and shoot the culprit and she immediately goes to the rescue of the girl who is submerged in a bathtub full of water, despite she herself clearly struggling with her injuries. Hailey Upton and Adam Ruzek come rushing in and the latter picked up Burgess and took her to the hospital. There, we see Burgess's blank expression -- albeit full of emotion -- as the doctor tells her she lost the baby.
There is no mention of Burgess in the synopsis or the promo for the episode. Most likely, she will be in recovery, although we can expect to see a little bit of her.
The upcoming episode will feature quite a bit of rookie, Vanessa Rojas, however. Rojas tried to question a young mentally ill man who is a witness for the case. From the promo, we see Rojas telling Hank Voight that her witness ran away,
In the next shot, we see the man confronting someone else as Rojas implores him to stop.
'Chicago PD' airs on NBC on Wednesday nights at 10/9c.
