'Chicago PD' Season 7 Episode 11: 'Burzek' baby may not be what the fans were hoping for after all
When the relationship between Adam Ruzek and Kim Burgess on 'Chicago PD' came to an end a few seasons ago, fans weren't thrilled. Since then, they have been asking the writers to bring the couple back together.
In the big 'One Chicago' crossover that took place earlier in the season, the tensions of the three-episode cinematic event (involving 'Chicago Fire' and 'Chicago Med' as well) led to the two characters deciding to spend the night together.
However, things were a little quiet after that, until we learned that Burgess is pregnant. And yes, Ruzek is the father. This would obviously be a big decision for Burgess to ponder over; she is one of the junior members of the Intelligence Unit after all.
Burgess does decide to keep the baby and she informs Ruzek. Is Ruzek all in? Yes, he is but from the promo of this week's episode, it looks like Burgess may not really want Ruzek to be involved after all.
So far, they have been keeping Burgess' pregnancy between them but it won't be before long that they will have to inform the rest of the team. Their secret will soon start to have severe implications for their police work.
Meanwhile, in last week's episode, Kevin Atwater learned that his brother, Jordan, was associated with the crime. Though Jordan was the suspect, he was cleared. However, when Kevin tried to reach out to Jordan at the end of the episode, Jordan did not answer the call.
In this week's episode, Kevin will continue to try and contact his brother. All we can hope is that Jordan skipped town and stays away from trouble.
As for the case the Intelligence Unit deals with, a series of deadly acts of vandalism causes tensions to run high in the insular neighborhood of Canaryville.
'Chicago PD' airs on NBC on Wednesday nights.
