Everyone knows that one person who is always the life of the party. No matter what they do or where they go, they're ready to have a good time at the drop of a hat. And more often than not, they can be as dysfunctional as it gets. And for 'Chicago Party Aunt's Diane Dunbrowski, dysfunctional is probably her middle name!

As per the logline of the show, "Chicago Party Aunt is a half-hour animated comedy that follows Diane Dunbrowski, AKA The Chicago Party Aunt, as she stays true to her mantra 'If life gives you lemons, turn that shit into Mike's Hard Lemonade'." If you're looking for other comedy titles to check out, you might want to consider, 'Awkwafina is Nora From Queens', 'The Neighborhood', 'Brooklyn Nine-Nine' and 'Only Murders In The Building'.

'Chicago Party Aunt' follows the antics of Diane Dombrowski, who considers herself to be the physical embodiment of the city itself, seeing that she has a heart of gold but is undoubtedly rough around the edges. When her nephew Daniel realises that he doesn't want to go to Stanford University, she strikes a deal with her sister to allow them both to stay at her condo. The series covers all the antics they get up to. Daniel shows his aunt how to adapt to changing times while she teaches him how to live in the moment. The series ends on a rather sweet note -- Episode 8, titled 'Emergency Contact', takes place during Christmas, a time for friends, family and celebration.

Diane, the life of any party, finds herself with quite a range of plans for the evening -- she assumes she'll be visiting her sister Bonnie with Daniel, later meeting her son, Mikey and ex-husband Kurt and then ending the night with her friends at Borough. But as the night progress, all of Diane's plans seem to keep falling through -- Bonnie tells her they are going to her in-laws' house for Christmas, Mikey and Kurt plan to go to the Zoo with their girlfriends and don't have a ticket for Bonnie. And finally, the party at Borough had no alcohol, as corporate was on a video call, and the store manager, Gideon, was not having Diane pull her usual antics.

She even visits her favorite bar, only to realize that no one wants to be there. Left alone, she answers an emergency call from her second husband, Sean Vincent, who is in the hospital. Diane isn't thrilled to see him, seeing that they are both ended on terrible terms, but she realizes she rather be with him on Christmas than alone. As the night progresses, Sean proves why they ended up divorced; he's absolutely the worst kind of person, from his inappropriate jokes to stealing from the hospital and even mocking Diane's loneliness. Diane realizes she'd rather be alone than deal with him and, on her way out, is bombarded by a pleasant surprise -- all her friends and family tackle her to the ground, relieved that she is okay. It turns out Diane called Daniel while in an elevator to inform him about her whereabouts, but due to a spotty connection, all he heard was that she was in a hospital. Panic set in as he told everyone, who set out on a manhunt to find Diane, as they were worried for her safety.

Diane realizes that even though she spent most of Christmas alone, the people in her life do care rather deeply for her. The series ends on a rather feel-good note, and while it doesn't exactly set up for a new season, there are a few plotlines that fans can expect in a potential Season 2, such as Bonnie being pregnant again and some more of Sean Vincent's antics. Guess we'll wait and find out!

You can stream all eight episodes of 'Chicago Party Aunt' on Netflix.
