When will 'Chicago Med' Season 6 Episode 5 air? Here's how Will Halstead's trial continues to go well for now

Will finds continued success with his medical trial, but knowing Will, it may only be a matter of time before something goes wrong

We finally have a new episode of 'Chicago Med' airing. It is only the second episode of 2021 after unexpected delays in the schedule, mainly due to political events. However, for now, 'Chicago Med' could be returning to air a few episodes at a stretch unless something else happens to interrupt the schedule.

For now, however, we cannot wait to see what happens next on 'Chicago Med'. This season has seen quite some changes with respect to what is going on in the hospital.

What happened previously?

In one of the changes, Ethan Choi (Brian Tee) is now the Chief of the Emergency Department and he is already angering a few of his colleagues. First, there was Will Halstead (Nick Gehlfuss) who was already upset he was not the one to get the role but was even more so when Ethan began interfering in his cases.

In the most recent episode, Ethan is upsetting the nurses with his drive for perfection, asking them to improve the turnover times for rooms where the patients have been removed, restocking the emergency carts multiple times and so on.

Will, meanwhile, has signed up for a heart failure drug trial and is tasked with signing up people for the trial. This is a new direction for Will, who is looking to introspect on his personal and private life, especially after that ED Chief snub. Will has been quite impulsive and perhaps this is the spark he needs to change. April Sexton (Yaya DaCosta) is signing up to help Will and we wonder how Ethan will react.

We also have a new relationship brewing in the ED: Natalie Manning (Torrey DeVitto) and Crockett Marcel (Dominic Rains) have been flirting more lately and we are not the only ones noticing. Given both the characters' rocky history with workplace relationships, it remains to be seen whether "Mancel" will last. If it does, tough lunch "Manstead" fans, but there may yet be hope.

When will Episode 5 air?

'Chicago Med' Season 6 Episode 5 will air on Wednesday, February 3, at 8/7c.

What to expect in Episode 5?

The official synopsis for Episode 5 states: "Dr Halstead is finding continued success in his trial. Dr Charles’ daughter, Anna, receives life-changing news. Noah finds himself in a situation not even April can fix."

It's been a while since Halstead has had something good going on for him. Perhaps this is going to lead to a revamp in his personal life as well. It is hinted that Will and Natalie will have a reunion as Natalie's mother lands in the hospital. Whether Natalie's mother may sign up for the trial remains to be seen, but Natalie's and Crockett's growing relationship may play spoilsport.

However, Will also might have a romance brewing on the side — he will be having sparks with the new character, Sabeena Virani (Tehmina Sunny), who is the one who recruited him into the trial.

We will also continue to see more of Daniel Charles's (Oliver Platt) personal life as Anna comes back to 'Chicago Med'. In other family stories, April's brother, Noah Sexton (Roland Buck III), who is a doctor at the hospital will also appear in the episode.
