Spoilers for 'Chicago Fire' Season 9 Episode 4

Matthew Casey (Jesse Spencer) and Sylvie Brett (Kara Killmer) have now been flirting for almost two seasons, and even, much to fans' delight, kissed earlier this season. While Brett was worried that Gabby, Casey's ex, might come back and have Casey to himself, it turns out that Casey might have another prospect in the dating department.

The start of the episode saw the Fire House respond to a car accident that saw Casey help the woman involved named Sydney. In the same scene, we also see Brett making her way into another man's heart, lieutenant of engine 40, Greg Ranger.

While of course, all was well with dancer Sydney and she got out of the hospital, she decided that she would make her way to Fire House 51 and ask out Casey. Unfortunately, for Brett, Sydney had to ask her where Casey was first. Things weren't looking too good for Casey either, as Ranger asked him if Brett was seeing anyone.

While the scenes were hilarious and took us back to high school days, fans seem to be amused that both Brett and Casey have a new romantic interest introduced. Some also think that this may help both Brett and Casey finally be together.

"The fact that they’re trying to give Brett and Casey new love interests just proves they’re about to push them together and I am HERE FOR IT.  #ChicagoFire," wrote one fan. Another added, "Me watching all this Casey and Brett angst... Even though I KNOW it'll be fine, it's harder than I thought it would be. #Brettsey #ChicagoFire #OneChicago."

Yet another added, "I’m sorry I don’t like your fling Caption... Brett is who you are really thinking about!!! Brett your still thinking about Casey!! Oh my gosh sooo awkward!!!  It’s now or never you two! #ChicagoFire"

The flirting between Sydney and Casey, and Brett and Ranger seem to be quite heightened. Casey even sees Brett with Ranger, and let's just say that he doesn't like it too much. Fans are a bit confused though on why doesn't Casey do something about it? Not to mention, Brett was equally jealous as well.

"#ChicagoFire What is happening with Brett and Casey?? Brett is the one who turned down Casey but now she's jealous that Casey is getting asked out on a date?," wrote one fan. Another added, "I'm just waiting to see how Matt gets jealous. Especially this scene where he hold paper, I hope there is a phone number of this guy and wants Casey to give Brett. I'm interested in what he's going to do #ChicagoFire #Brettsey"

A user added, "I crave some jealous Casey & I'm gonna be so excited if we get that cuz a jealous Casey mean a Casey who's realizing he's losing Brett & that he need to fix his shit & start fighting for her  #Brettsey #ChicagoFire"
