While the coronavirus pandemic goes on, so does the 'Chicago' franchise, at least, for a few more episodes anyway. This week, all three shows of the 'Chicago' franchise return. This week's episode of 'Chicago Fire' will see Lt. Kelly Severide (Taylor Kinney) going back to the Office of Fire Investigations (OFI) in the aftermath of a suspicious death.

Severide was transferred to the OFI earlier in the season — his father was also a part of the office before his death — and it was clear that Severide had a penchant for investigations. During his time at the OFI, Severide worked with Lt Wendy Seager (Andy Allo) to clear many backlogged cases. In the process, he cleared those who were wrongly convicted of arson and even managed to capture a serial arsonist.

After helping catch the serial arsonist, Severide transferred back to Firehouse 51 — much to viewers' relief — and even continued with small investigations there. During an episode that featured a string of false alarms from a private school, Severide and Capt Matthew Casey (Jesse Spencer) worked together to find the culprit — a young boy who did so because of the bullying he faced.

In the promo for this week's episode, the firefighters of 51 deal with a motel structure fire when they discover a body submerged in a bathtub full of water. Severide is later told that the person was killed before the fire started and he is asked to investigate what went down. This sees him reunited with Seager to solve the case.

Here's where it becomes interesting — Seager was shown to be interested in Severide, something his girlfriend Stella Kidd (Miranda Rae Mayo) noticed. However, in last week's episode, Kidd decided to start an initiative to encourage more girls to become firefighters, and she teamed up with Seager to push it through on Severide's suggestion.

How Severide, Kidd, and Seager interact with each other will be important. However, Severide's life could be put in danger this week as we see someone attack him. Hopefully, he makes it out alright.

Elsewhere in the episode, we will see paramedic Sylvie Brett (Kara Killmer) continue to get invested in her birth mother, Julie, whom she met earlier this season. Julie is also pregnant and photos for the episode suggest that she could be giving birth to Brett's younger sibling in this week's episode.

Meanwhile, Firehouse 51 members become amateur sleuths following a Reddit post involving one of their own. We always look forward to fun moments of camaraderie among the firefighters and this story promises to be a treat for viewers.

'Chicago Fire' airs on NBC on Wednesday nights at 9/8c.
