Georgia Holt was born Jackie Jean Crouch
Born in Kensett, Arkansas, Holt's name was originally Jackie Jean Crouch. Her mother, Lynda Inez Gulley, was 13 at the time of her birth, while her father Roy Malloy Crouch was 21. Her parents eventually separated and Holt spent time between both of them. Her father taught her how to sing and play the guitar.
She started her career at the age of 6
One of her earliest singing performances came at age six, when she performed on an Oklahoma City radio station. She later sang with Bob Wills and the Texas Playboys at age 10. Holt participated and won multiple talent and pageant competitions. Apart from her singing career, she also made a few TV and film appearances in the 1950s.
In 2013, her daughter, Cher was the executive producer of the Lifetime documentary, 'Dear Mom, Love Cher' which was based on Holt's life. It's around this time she also released her album, 'Honky Tonk Woman', which was originally recorded in 1982. The mother-daughter duo even performed a song on the same, titled 'I'm Just Your Yesterday'.
Holt has been married 6 times
As reported by The Famous People, Holt has had five husbands, one of which she married twice. She was first married to John Sarkisian, with whom she had her daughter, Cher, whose full name is Cherilyn Sarkisian. The pair later got divorced and remarried, only to get divorced again.
She was then married to Chris Alcaide, but the pair got divorced within a year. She married John Southall, with whom she had her daughter, Georganne Elizabeth Southall, who later went by Georganne LaPiere. Georganne is an actress and Cher's half-sister.
She went to marry Joseph Harper Collins but the pair ended their marriage within five years. Her next husband, Gilbert Hartmann LaPiere, adopted her daughters and also had their last names changed to LaPiere. However, that marriage soon ended and she tied the knot with Hamilton T Holt, whose name she still uses. She is currently in a relationship with Craig Spencer. The pair have been together since 1976.
