ITTA BENA, MISSISSIPPI: On February 11, the game between Mississippi Valley State and Alabama A&M took an ugly turn when a cheerleader appeared to be ejected from the court after getting into an altercation with a player.
Within split seconds the cheerleader could be seen surrounded by security guards who then proceeded to escort her off the court. A member on the broadcast could be heard saying, “The Alabama A&M coach, he’s fussing,” adding, “He’s fussing and cussing,” according to New York Post.

What really happened at the game?
About three minutes into the remaining second half of the conference game, an Alabama A&M player appeared to make contact with a Mississippi Valley State cheerleader while she jumped in the air near the baseline, as part of her routine. This occurred when junior guard/forward Dailin Smith was inbounding the ball.
However, things got more serious after the play returned from the end of the court to in front of the Mississippi Valley State cheerleaders. After a whistle, the same cheerleader then appeared to enter the court, walked over to Smith, and shoved him. Soon after, the game was halted, and nearly a dozen security personnel walked across the courtroom to the cheerleader. She appeared to be grabbing a jacket and was escorted outside the game.
'He’s fussing and cussing!'
Two broadcasters could be heard explaining the aftermath of the situation and saying “The Alabama A&M coach, he’s fussing,” said Caleb Brunson. “He’s fussing and cussing.” “Yeah, coach is kinda losing it over here,” Andre Williams, the other member of the broadcast team, added. After a brief pause, Brunson revealed that “they’re gonna put one of the cheerleaders out of the game.”

Despite the little turmoil in the game, Alabama State defeated the Mississippi Valley by 70-68, on a last-second shot. Junior guard Messiah Thompson dribbled the ball through the last five seconds before dribbling right and drilling a last-second shot as he faded away from the basket. According to the source, the victory raised Alabama A&M's overall record to 10-15, with a 6-6 mark in the Southwestern Athletic Conference. Meanwhile, with a 2-10 conference record, Mississippi State's record fell to 3-23.
