'Cheer Squad Secrets': Meet Margaret Anne Florence, Anita Brown and rest of the cast of Lifetime thriller
We have all grown up watching and admiring the cheerleaders in high school flicks and television shows. While the lives of cheerleaders always look glossy with glittery pom-poms, swooning dance moves and a fit body, the story behind every cheerleader is not that fascinating though! Behind that sparkle is a dark truth too that is uncovered in Lifetime’s latest thriller 'Cheer Squad Secrets'. The film is part of six dynamic new movies being released on Lifetime Channel under the theme 'Fear the Cheer'.
Under this theme, the films will unravel the vicious side of cheerleading. The other films in the lineup have 'Dying to Be a Cheerleader', 'Cheer Squad Secrets', 'Cheer Camp Killer', 'Cheerleader Abduction', 'The Wrong Cheerleader Coach' and 'Who is Killing the Cheerleaders?' Before we head to watch 'Cheer Squad Secrets', meet the cast which features Margaret Anne Florence as Kelly Regan, Anita Brown as Coach Nina, and Karis Cameron as Amelie Regan.
Margaret Anne Florence
Margaret Anne Florence is a multi-talented personality venturing effortlessly well into acting, singing, and modeling. Born and raised in Charleston, South Carolina, the actress has received a Bachelor's in Music/Classical Voice from the College of Charleston, and a Masters in Music Theatre Performance from New York University. Florence was seen in major films like 'My Super Ex-Girlfriend', 'The Mighty Macs' and 'The New Daughter'.
She has also featured in many television shows like 'Inside Amy Schumer', '30 Rock', 'Nurse Jackie' to name some. The actress has also been into the theater scene. She has worked in productions like 'The Light in the Piazza', 'The Fantasticks', and 'Street Scene' to name some. Anne Florence is best known for her role as Marion Keisker in the show 'Sun Records'. The show explores rock ‘n’ roll pioneer Sam Phillips (Chad Michael Murray) who founded Sun Records company and guided musicians like Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, and many more. She is currently based in New York City with her husband and son. In her leisure time, she enjoys working out, playing sports, travel, cooking, and living a healthy lifestyle, as per her official website.
Karis Cameron
Karis Cameron is a Canadian actress and model who is popularly known for her role in the mystery series 'Open Heart'. Cameron was born in British Columbia and grew up in a town called Tofino, as per TVOver Mind. She is the first person in her family to venture into an acting career and has since come a long way from working on shows at Hallmark channel to featuring in Lifetime Channel’s movies, the site reports.
Her credits on Lifetime Channel movies include 'Identity Theft Of A Cheerleader' and 'New Year’s Kiss'. It will be exciting to see how she has essayed the role of a vulnerable and hardworking cheerleader in 'Cheer Squad Secrets'.
The actress has taken the art of acting very seriously. In an interview published on My Devotional Thoughts, she said, "I’ve always really liked to tell stories and to be a part of something so much bigger than just myself. I get that with acting; being a part of the production of this grand story is really something I will never get enough of. I love the process and bringing these characters to life. It really does take a full team to bring these stories to life. As far as training, I’m almost always in class and trying to keep busy in-between roles."
Anita Brown
Anita Brown is an actress known for films like 'L'agence tous risques' (2010), 'The Lone Ranger' (2003), and 'A Guy Thing' (2003). She has also starred in 'A-Team' (2010), 'Star Trek Beyond' (2016), and 'Fifty Shades Freed' (2018). The actress who “enjoys challenging” herself in the film industry with different characters and stunts started her acting career back in 2000. It was with a minor role in the film 'My 5 Wives' in which she essayed the role of Megan. Later, as per Hollywood News, she made her appearance in one episode of 'Pasadena: Henry’s Secret' and in 2001 made her next appearance in another episode of that series.
As per Hollywood News, Brown landed her first film role in with 'A Guy Thing' in 2003. It was in the same year that she made her appearance in many television series like 'The Lone Ranger', 'Just Cause: Dying to Be Thin', 'Stephen King’s Dead Zone: Plague' and 'Jake 2.0: The Good, the Bad, and the Geeky'. She went on to appear in numerous television shows like 'Supernatural: Skin', 'Da Vinci’s City Hall: Zero to Sixty Pretty Quick', 'Godiva’s: Champagne Kisses' and 'Whistler: Meltdown'. It will be worth a watch to see her cast in the coach Nina in the upcoming Lifetime thriller.
