DAVIS COUNTY, UTAH: The man, slain in a Farmington police shooting on March 1 after being pulled over for having an invalid license plate, appears to be screaming in a courtroom audio clip from 2022. The audio was recorded during a court hearing in September for Diane Allan, the mother of slain Chase Allan, 25.

The mother was in court to argue against two driving tickets she received in April. After the shooting, a report linked the Allan family to the sovereign citizen movement, which holds that people do not have to obey US law. The court audio reveals that Chase "screamed expletives" during his mother Diana's traffic citation case, reports Fox 13 Now.

What did the court audio reveal?

Diane repeatedly challenges the ongoing trial procedures in the courtroom audio from September 21, infuriating Judge John Ynchausti. The court corrects her dozens of times for continually raising the same objections throughout the first few minutes of her appearance.

Despite her interruptions, the hearing is still proceeding fairly calmly, but things start to get intense about six minutes in when the bailiffs announce that they have a warrant out for the arrest of someone they believe to be Chase. As courthouse security tries to remove him, he starts to use expletives while his mother yells at them to release her son. "This is battery and assault!" an individual thought to be Chase can be heard screaming before resuming a barely audible tirade, saying, "This is treason!"

'This entire proceeding is improper'

Chase's mother quickly joined the rant in the courtroom. "You know that this is improper," she claims to officials. "You absolutely do know this is improper. This entire proceeding is improper." When Diane demanded to know the names of everyone responsible for taking her son, Ynchausti responded that he would comply with her request as soon as everyone had completed their tasks. When bailiffs inquired if there was anything they could do to get Chase to comply, he stated that he would not do so.

'I'm being assaulted! I need help'

Diane phoned 911 while Chase was still being restrained by handcuffs, despite it being forbidden to do so in a courtroom, and reported being assaulted. "I need help," the mother cried. "I'm at the Davis County Justice Department and I'm being assaulted! I need help. They have been placing their hands on me, forcing me to do things I don't want to do."

Ynchausti then asks Diane to put the phone down, but she tells the operator to stay on the line. "You all here have been participating in crimes against both of us without cause," The judge gave his approval after the mother announced that she would exit the courtroom. She was found guilty of both citations after she left, and the judge continued the case after she had gone and imposed a $100 fine.
