'Charmed' Season 2: Could Abigael be Alastor's daughter out for revenge against the Vera-Vaughn sisters?

Abigael is part-demon and part-witch and through her multiple lies being revealed in her first appearance, it might seem like she is someone far more sinister.

In last week's episode of the second season of the 'Charmed' reboot on The CW, Macy met Abigael, a witch in distress. While Macy goes to rescue her alone, she also gets caught and ultimately uses her knowledge science to escape the cage they are in. When Macy and Abigael are on the run, three demons close in on them, and she blindfolds Abigael before opening the portal to the Elders' command center.

Though initially, it appeared that Abigael (played by Poppy Drayton of 'The Shannara Chronicles') was innocent, it quickly turned out that she could not be trusted. When she tried to touch the Book of Elders, she was flung away just like Macy was earlier in the episode due to her demon side. This led Macy to find out that the witch she rescued, was in fact, a half-demon like her. Later, Macy finds a tracking chip on Abigael and though the latter said she did not know about it, we feel she was only pretending.

When they lure the demon after them to the command center, just before the demon is vanquished, he looks at Abigael and says, "it's you, isn't it?" Finally, at the end of the episode when Harry, Mel, and Maggie leave and Macy opens a portal for Abigael to go to someplace else, Abigael tries to stab Macy, but Macy catches her just in time. But Abigael has one more trick up her sleeve and just as Macy is about to vanquish her, she tells her that the thing that gave Macy the green scar on her leg (dark Harry) is after her too.

Macy comes across a terrified Abigael on 'Charmed' (The CW)

Obviously, Macy should stop trusting Abigael but we know she is sticking around for a while since Poppy Drayton has been announced to be a series regular on this season of 'Charmed'. While there are many theories floating around on who she could be, one, in particular, is interesting and follows on from the events of the first season.

Before the second season aired, there were rumors floating about that Alastor's daughter would be coming for revenge in this season. Alastor -- or to the humans, Alastair Caine -- was the main villain of the first season while he tried to get his son, Parker, to take on the Source of All Magic/Evil. After Macy took on the Source, she killed Alastor and that threat pretty much ended there.

This could explain why Abigael is trying to kill Macy, and Macy alone. If Abigael wanted to harm the other sisters, she certainly wouldn't have waited for Macy to open the portal before attempting to kill her. If Abigael is indeed Alastor's daughter, and if she is also the demon overlord as many suspect, her long game could involve taking on the Source herself.

'Charmed' airs on The CW on Friday nights.
