'Charmed' season 2 features a mysterious hooded villain and it could be someone from the sisters' past

The teaser for the second season dropped a few days back and we see a hooded demon attack the sisters. Could it be someone we've seen before?

By the end of season 1 of The CW's 'Charmed' reboot, the Elders were killed off and it looked like the Vera-Vaughn sisters might be left in charge of the magical community. Certainly, the other members of the magical community such as the pixie and the satyr agreed that the sisters were best poised to take over due to their power, abilities, and compassion. During the New York Comic-Con last week, we even got many clues as to how the new season would look like with new showrunners.

In the season 2 premiere, we will be introduced to a mysterious hooded villain who will be present throughout the season. This villain is presumably a demon as a war would be breaking out with the demons trying to defeat the Charmed Ones. While we are set to learn more about Mel, Maggie, Macy, and Harry, fans are curious about the new villain. And we think we know who it is.

Drumroll, please...

Constantine Rousouli as Hunter Caine on 'Charmed' reboot (The CW)

Yes, Hunter was vanquished in the first season, but he was a much more formidable villain than his half-brother Parker, or his demon father, Alastor Caine. We meet Hunter early on in Season 1 as a shape-shifting demon and he manages to antagonize the girls and others on his quest to help his father's mission to make sure Parker is ready to take on the Source of All Evil. While Parker is half-human and therefore conflicted most of the time, Hunter is fully sadistic and quite a one-dimensional villain. At one point, he comes back more powerful than ever from Tartarus, but this does not last long as he is vanquished.

Story-wise, Hunter was a much more interesting villain and the actor, Constantine Rousouli was good at playing this malicious demon. And though Parker may be the revival of an original series character, Cole Turner's (whose romance with Phoebe Halliwell is still popular among fans), Parker comes across as quite bland. It may be because of the actor or the writing, or the lack of chemistry between Parker and Maggie, but should the writers choose between a Caine brother to bring back to the reboot, they must choose Hunter.

Fans agree on this as well with many preferring Hunter's villainous ways over Parker's dubious ones. And if the writers aim to go in a different direction than the original, they certainly don't need to bring Parker back -- except maybe to close off that plotline. However, we're willing to give Parker another chance should the new showrunners revamp his story.

But for now, our bets are on Hunter coming back to avenge himself (he is too selfish to avenge his family) and maybe the writers can add a few layers to the character.

'Charmed' Season 2 will premiere on The CW on Friday, October 11th.
