'Charmed' Season 2 Episode 3: Poppy Drayton's Abigael is here to stay, but can she be trusted?

Poppy Drayton of 'The Shannara Chronicles' has been confirmed to be a series regular for the second season just a few hours before the episode aired
UPDATED NOV 1, 2019

In the third episode of the second season of the 'Charmed' reboot, the lack of powers is getting to the sisters, and Macy is feeling overwhelmed by having to save other witches in distress on her own.

Frustrated because of their failures and reluctant to fall asleep to avoid seeing dark Harry, Macy lashes out at her sisters and tries to stay alert at the command center throughout the day should any witch need her help.

And so when she gets a distress signal, Macy does not wait for backup and heads to a train yard in San Fransisco, California. There, she meets a beaten up witch, Abigael, played by Poppy Drayton.

However, the two are captured by demons before Macy can help her.

Later, Macy uses her powers of science to get them out of the cage they are locked in and, in a bid to escape the three demons, Macy opens the portal to the command center and takes a blindfolded Abigael along.

Maggie is skeptical of Abigael but the latter helps her out of a difficult situation with a spell.

Later, when Macy asks her about the demon overlord, Abigael lets on that she knows Macy is one of the Charmed Ones—she hears the names "Maggie" and "Macy" and says she heard a rumor that the sisters were alive. Already, this is suspect considering just in the last episode we found out that the demon overlord knew the sisters were alive.

Macy then removes Abigael's restraints and blindfold and the latter moves around to explore.

As she touches the Book of Elders thinking it is the Book of Shadows, she is repelled back just like Macy was earlier due to her demon side, leading Macy to realize that Abigael isn't a full witch.

Abigael tells Macy that she is the product of a love affair between a witch and a demon. Macy also sees a tracker on Abigael and the latter tells her the demons must have put it on her to track the sisters. And sure enough, a demon shows up at Safe Space looking for the sisters and it's the overlord himself.

As Abigael vanquishes the demon named Callum, he says, "It's you, isn't it?"

In the end, Abigael is about to take a portal to Wembley and gives Macy a farewell hug.

A warning for "Command Center Breach" goes off just before Abigael tries to attack Macy. Just as Macy is about to vanquish her, Abby notices the green scar from dark Harry's poison and tells Macy that "the thing" came for her as well.

A few hours before the episode aired, it was confirmed that Poppy Drayton will be a series regular for the second season of 'Charmed', which means we will be seeing a lot more of her.

But at this point, there have already been too many twists in her character and we don't know whether she can be trusted. Whether she is the demon overlord itself, or something else will only be clearer later on, but we don't think Macy should make the mistake of trusting her again.

'Charmed' airs on The CW on Friday nights.
