'Charmed' fans hope their favorite characters have better plotlines and villains play bigger roles in Season 2

The updated reboot will be coming back for its second season and this is what fans hope to see in the new episodes
PUBLISHED OCT 6, 2019

The 'Charmed' reboot will return to The CW on Friday, October 4, and fans of the show are excited to see more of the Vera sisters.

While the show's freshman season had its plot holes and pacing issues, loyal viewers are anticipating a darker season with Liz Kruger and Craig Shapiro taking over as showrunners.

It has also been teased that the second season might focus more on supernatural elements and less on family dynamics, but some fans are skeptical about that.

While some agree that exploring supernatural elements on the show would be more interesting, many say focusing less on the family dynamics might be a bad idea.

They feel the Vera sisters' relationship was not properly developed in the first season and they hope for more natural scenes between Mel, Maggie, and Macy.

That would include one-on-one interactions and as a whole. This was something the OG 'Charmed' excelled at — Piper, Prue, Phoebe, and later Paige got along very well together and each had their roles.

While it looks like the writers tried that with the Vera sisters in the reboot, fans were not convinced.

Here's what the reboot certainly does better than the OG show: its slew of supporting characters. From Nico to Alistair to Gavin, the new 'Charmed' did not just focus on the sisters and fans loved that.

They hope this is taken to the next level, where the show explores the perspectives of these supporting characters, rather than that of the Vera sisters or Harry.

They also hope that the villains in the next season are not so easily vanquished like Hunter and Alistair were in the first season.

Now that the Elders are gone, the Vera sisters are effectively left in charge of the magical world. But the Elders played a big part on OG 'Charmed' and fans hope we continue to learn about the Elders in season two.

It looks like it will be possible since, in one of the upcoming episodes, it looks like Mel and Harry will be trying to "crack the Book of Elders" in the third episode of the new season. We might learn how the Elders worked — with respect to local and international magic — and that would certainly be a great thing.

Of course, the biggest problem viewers had with the reboot was its pacing. Many felt that the writers rushed through many storylines, including those of the Sarcana, Macy as the Source, Parker, and so forth.

Viewers are hoping with Shapiro and Kruger on board, the issues might be overcome. 'Charmed' airs on The CW on Friday nights.
