'Freedom is coming': Chad Daybell referred to Lori Vallow as 'my goddess lover' months prior to his wife Tammy's death
BOISE, IDAHO: As the Lori Vallow murder trial is ongoing, several pieces of new evidence are coming to light. The jury was presented with a copy of text messages Chad Daybell sent Vallow months ago his ex-wife Tammy died back in 2019. In one of the texts, he called her ‘my goddess lover.’ The text dated July 26, 2019, "Every few weeks I get to escape and have amazing adventures with my Goddess lover, but then I have to return to my place under the stairs, feeling trapped. But I sense permanent freedom is coming!"
Almost after three months, on October 19, 2019, Tammy passed away, and her death was initially ruled due to ‘natural causes,’ and no autopsy was done. However, authorities now claim that she was asphyxiated, and both her husband Chad and Lori are accused of Tammy’s murder. Lori is also charged with allegedly killing her two own children, Joshua ‘J.J.’ Vallow, 7, and Tylee Ryan, 16. Chad is being tried separately and is charged in connection with all three deaths. Both Lori and Chad had pleaded not guilty, as per court documents.

'Tammy had been taken over by a Satanic [spirit]'
On Thursday, April 13, Lori’s former friend, Melanie Gibb came forward to testify about comments Lori had made about Tammy and her slain children before they went missing. As per Gibb, Lori believed Tammy had been taken over by a Satanic, "dark" spirit weeks before her death, around the time she suspected Chad was having an affair. Chad had told Lori that Tammy "would be passing away early in her life." Lori also believed that people existed in the world on a scale of ‘light’ and ‘dark,’ where light is referred to as Jesus Christ and dark to Satan. It depended on each individual, on who chose to ‘sign contracts’ with whom side, reports People.
'She felt it was according to God's will'
Gibb also told during the trial that Lori and Chad would usually choose motels and hotels to meet while Chad was married. Interestingly, Lori believed their alleged affair was alright, "She felt it was according to God's will," Gibb testified. Lori will not be facing the death penalty if charged during the trial and will be given life in prison instead.
