'Celebrity IOU': Anthony Anderson plans 'emotional' home renovation for brother Derrick
Anthony Anderson wishes to repay his selfless brother, Derrick, who has been serving on the front lines of the emergency room during the pandemic. Drew and Jonathan help Anthony in transforming his brother's run-down home into the contemporary home that his family deserves.
Season 4 of 'Celebrity IOU' has been promising so far, with some spectacular makeovers, A-list celebs – and plenty of happy waterworks! Drew and Jonathan's latest successful series for HGTV sees the Property Brothers partner up with celebs like Anthony Anderson and Lisa Kudrow to surprise friends and mentors with house makeovers. While some celebrities astounded the hosts with their skill in wielding a sledgehammer, others startled the twins with their vulnerability. Season 4 of 'Celebrity IOU' premiered on April 18 and airs new episodes every Monday at 9 pm on HGTV, as well as the same day on Discovery+.

In a new episode of HGTV's 'Celebrity IOU,' premiering Monday, May 30, at 9 pm, Anthony Anderson will pour his heart and soul into a life-changing home makeover for his younger brother and closest friend, Derrick. Derrick is an ER trauma nurse and first responder who, according to Anthony, worked diligently on the front lines to aid individuals in his town throughout the pandemic. Real estate and restoration professionals Jonathan and Drew Scott will collaborate with Anthony, the Multi Golden Globe® Award, BET Award, and Emmy Award-nominated and multi NAACP Image Awards-winning actor and producer, to reconstruct Derrick's house from the crawl space to the roof. The pair is ready to assist him in giving his brother's home a functioning open space concept with a high-end flair.
Anthony expresses his satisfaction and admiration for the man Derrick has become. It means a lot to him to be able to help Derrick in this way. What better way to honor him and his family than to provide him with the house he deserves? During the preliminary house tour, Anthony discusses his remodeling wishlist with Jonathan and Drew, which includes getting rid of the small rooms, installing a new heating and cooling system, and fixing the leaking roof. Following the demolition, Anthony and the brothers install high-quality windows, slick flooring, and modern cabinetry to provide Derrick with a spa-like bathroom, chef's kitchen, and big living space where his family can spend quality time together. Anthony is overjoyed to be able to present such a thoughtful gift because he sees Derrick as an unsung hero who should be lauded for his service.
