Cash Gernon's room looks like dump with dirty bed and floor in pics, Monica Sherrod says she touched nothing

'It's exactly the same as when Cash was last in here. I haven't been able to do this until now. It's breaking my heart, but I know I have to confront this'

DALLAS, TEXAS: Monica Sherrod, with whom Cash and Carter Gernon lived, invited media to take a look at Cash's room, following his kidnap. On the morning of Saturday, May 15, Cash was kidnapped allegedly by 18-year-old Darriynn Brown and he was found dead hours later on a Dallas street.

Cash was reportedly snatched from his bed and speaking of his room, Sherrod said, "I haven't touched a thing," and added, "It's exactly the same as when Cash was last in here. I haven't been able to do this until now. It's breaking my heart, but I know I have to confront this." A recent video that had surfaced also sees the 18-year-old suspect return to the room to in an attempt to snatch Cash's twin brother Carter as well.

Sherrod's boyfriend Trevor Gernon had the custody of his sons and it was in February that he had moved in with Monica at 7500 block of Florina Parkway. However, in March, Trevor fled after learning that there was a warrant out for him and since then he has not been heard from, claimed Monica. You can see photos of the room here.

The room looked shabby in photos with toys on the floor. The bed that the twins slept in was not made, and speaking about revisiting the room, Sherrod said, "I just couldn't face this before, the pain is so deep." Windows of the room were covered with makeshift curtains that definitely look flimsy. Speaking of taking care of the twin boys, Monica said, "I loved those boys. They were not even my biological boys. I brought them into my home. I had made this room for them."

Sherrod further described the house and explained why she put the two boys in the back of the six-bedroom apartment. She said, "There was that little tortoise for them. We put a lot of toys in here. Cash slept at one end of the crib and Carter at the other. This is a six-bedroom house and I put them together at the back of the house because I didn't want them to be alone, I wanted them together."

The back door leading to the garage through which Darriynn Brown allegedly sneaked in, was still broken. Monica said, "The kidnapper broke in through that door right there. The garage doesn't latch. He came in and broke the connecting door into the home. We are on the other side of the house, we didn't hear anything. We were all sleeping."

Users on the Internet noticed the state of the bedroom and many have criticized Monica for the state of the room that the twins stayed at. One user wrote, "You probably have seen the video of Monica Sherrod, the woman where Cash was staying. I was alarmed by the state of the bedroom, it looked like a dump. I also think, this isn´t a fact, that she is on drugs, big time. Another red flag, she got up late, cause Cash used to wake."

The user also wrote, "her up at 7, so they would be on time for school...Secondly, she didn't think of the camera's, son had to remind her. And her daughter said to her "Mum somebody did this to him", before he was even found. Not concluding anything, it's just .... strange."

One user noticed something about the window covering and asked, "I don't think we have the whole story yet. More people could be involved. Also who removed the window coverings before he came back the second time." There are still questions surrounding the incident. 

Since the death of Cash, Carter has reunited with his biological mother Melinda Seagroves. Melinda has reportedly been searching for her sons for an extended amount of time.
