Candiace Dillard apologizes for saying 'Kardashians don't give a f**k about Kanye West', fans call her ignorant
'Real Housewives of Potomac' star Candiace Dillard Bassett apologized to Kim Kardashian West and her family. Last week, Kanye held his first-ever political rally and in an address that clocked over an hour, the rapper broke down in tears at one point. Hot on the heels of his public breakdown, Candiace took to her Instagram page to slam the entire Kardashian clan alleging that never subscribed to the idea of them "pimping and using Black men for their advancement," but this incident changed everything.
In a series of 10 videos that she posted on July 20, she said, "The Kardashians don't give a f*** about Kanye West. They could give zero f**** about Kanye West, the man, the person, the Black man, the Black person, they could give zero. And if that was never clear to any of you before, let this circus that is currently running amuck be the exact example that you need to see."
She also called for conservatorship for Kanye West in one of the videos. "You'll wanna talk about Britney being locked up and unable to exercise her rights because she's in a conservatorship that has been in place for 12+ years and she's trapped whatever, I don't know about Britney but Kanye West Needs to be committed temporarily. He is not well. and the fact that his family, the people that he counts on, and depends on to take care of him are allowing him to be out in the world making a complete a** of himself. He is making a complete fool of himself and I can't even begin to tell you how angry it makes me to see these white women allow this sick Black man to be out here looking crazy."
Following his rally, Kim Kardashian took to her Instagram stories to address what transpired at the rally and requested the media to show him empathy. She also said bipolar disorder does not invalidate his dreams and creative ideas. Following her statement, Candiace once again took to her Instagram page to apologize and admitted she was wrong. She said, "My anger and my frustration was geared solely at what looked like abandonment. Kim has come out and made a statement that she's working privately to get Kanye the help he needs and I need to apologize," said Candiace.
However, people are not buying into her apology. "So I guess someone finally explained bipolar to you and now you’re backpedaling? I commented on your original rant and said it was premature and that you were making damaging assumptions without facts. Looks like I was right." wrote a fan. Another wrote, "& you should’ve minded your business in the first place, you’re so tacky now you wanna be smiling." Another wrote, "Your comments were completely IGNORANT! Back peddling won’t help. Action and service will!"
