Woman makes sourdough bread using her vaginal yeast leaving Internet 'disgusted'
A blogger has gone viral for using a bizarre ingredient while baking sourdough bread. Zoe Stavri, after getting a bad yeast infection, reportedly got inspired to turn her agony into a dish. She apparently decided to use the unwanted bodily fluid as an ingredient for making bread.
Stavri, who writes under the title Another Angry Woman, in her now-deleted 2015 blog said, “Waking up on Saturday with the familiar itchy burny fanny, I giggled to myself, 'Maybe I could make bread with that.’ And that ticked into, ‘Well, I’ve always wanted to try making my own sourdough anyway,’ and then a ‘F**k, would that even work?’ And then I got curious, and the next thing that happened was I was scraping white goop off of a dildo into a bowl of flour mixed with water.”

Though the blogger maintained that yeast is yeast, after all, she also claimed that her “personalized” sourdough starter recipe turned out to be really good. She wrote, “Making sourdough starter entails encouraging stuff that’s present in the flour and just sort of floating around in the air in your kitchen and on your utensils to grow. That’s what wild yeast is. ... Like all bread made with yeast, once it’s cooked, it’s not exactly going to go about colonizing your gut with yeast. The biggest risk with using candida albicans for bread making is that it won’t rise.”
But as people on the internet got to know about the bread made from vaginal yeast, they could not control their distaste. One user tweeted, “Disgusting... does she also lick toilets clean????” Another one said, “If you have enough of your own yeast to make bread, it’s probably time to clean out that “oven” of yours. And yes feeding this to me would lead to a fatality, YOURS.” The third one wrote, “If she's producing yeast like that, they make pills and creams for that. This made me gag! That should be against the law.”

One user angrily said, “Disgusting. Nobody needs to read this kind of ‘infornation’. It's disturbing in general and degrading for women.” Another one remarked, “This is disgusting. What a bunch of idiots. I would say women but no woman I know would do anything so stupid. If this is who anyone thinks of as a 'hero', well they are insane and this world is in more trouble than we thought. Sickening.”

But Stavri defended herself by arguing, “It probably doesn’t matter that my sourdough may or may not contain any actual vaginal yeast. The very idea of it seems to horrify people more than enough. I suppose it’s a similar socially constructed disgust that leaves a whole bunch of people repulsed by the idea of licking a pussy. Even the mere idea of a tiny trace of pussy in a massive loaf of bread is sufficiently vile.”
