MANHATTAN BEACH, CALIFORNIA: A shocking video recorded outside a shop in Manhattan Beach shows a woman throwing hot coffee in a man's face for not wearing a face mask and then playing the victim after he retaliated.

The incident occurred outside a coffee shop, according to TMZ, with a scuffle breaking out between the woman and two men because the latter were not wearing face masks, which are mandated in restaurants in the city when the customers are not eating.

The two men are about to eat their meal when the woman and another man, believed to be her partner, walked to them and called them out for not following the rules. The men respond by telling the pair that they did not believe in face coverings, which prompted an argument between them.

"We're locals here but we fall on the other side of the fence. We don't believe in this stuff (face coverings)," one of the men says, before adding that he had been a business owner in the city for 30 years.

He goes on to talk to them about his business as the other man talked to the woman's partner when, suddenly, the argument escalates.

The ensuing altercation was filmed on one of the men's body cameras and shows the woman throwing a cup of coffee at his friend. Incensed, the man responds by rushing towards the pair and throws a punch at the woman's partner, causing his nose to bleed.

The woman is pushed and falls to the ground as well and can then be heard complaining that the man could not behave this way. "You can't punch people in the face," she exclaims while her partner can be heard in the background calling the police.

"You should have thrown the drink in his face," the man with the body camera tells her as he proudly says, "I could not give a f***."

She goes on to defend her actions. "I hope someone saw that, and I will do it ten times over," she says.

The video ends as the sound of police sirens is heard in the background, with it currently unclear how the authorities responded to the brawl. An unverified comment on social media suggested that the woman tried to tell the cops that the man had attacked them without provocation, only to be quickly proven wrong via the bodycam footage. She was supposedly made to apologize to the two men afterward.

Social media users sided with the two men and questioned how she could play the victim when she had been the aggressor.

"Imagine throwing coffee on someone and being shocked they punched you in the face," one wrote on Reddit's Public Freakout subreddit dedicated to such incidents.

"What a couple of b******," a second commented. "They could have just kept walking. Glad someone got their a** beat. And the woman acting like such a poser, puffing out her chest and waving her arms around like she is going to do something."

"This is a great reminder that while I strongly feel everyone should wear a mask, it is not up to you to call anyone out and throwing coffee on them well you deserve a punch in the face," another posted. "They were outside and away from everyone. Seems like this couple went out of their way and nice to see filmer not step in when both start attacking him."
