STATESBORO, GEORGIA: Georgia Southern University graduate Caitlin Jensen, 29, is back home eight months after having multiple strokes and getting paralyzed when a chiropractor severed her arteries. She was reportedly released from a treatment center on February 16, 2023. Jensen has now regained movement in her head, arms, and legs, after being hospitalized following an appointment with Dr TJ Harpham, 42.

Jensen reportedly sustained four ruptured arteries, leading to multiple strokes and heart attacks. She was subsequently admitted to a trauma center with limited body movement. She was later moved to Atlanta's Shepherd Center for physical therapy. Jensen can now begin treatment in her new home, paid for with the help of donations from a GoFundMe page set up for her. At the time of writing this article, $166,776 had been raised of the $250,000 goal.

Caitlin Jensen's new home

Jensen's new home features outdoor wheelchair rails and various handicap accessibility features. It also has an outdoor garden station to ensure Jensen can continue her hobbies. Jensen is still unable to speak.

"We’ve been home for two weeks, but one of those was spent mostly in the Memorial Trauma ICU unit, so it really feels like we’ve been home for a week," Jensen's mother Darlene said in a Facebook post. "As most of you know, it was an uphill battle. On November 25 - the day after Thanksgiving, I woke up with clarity in my heart and decided to go all in and trust God that he was going to work it out. I told Amy to go ahead with a contract on the house. At this point, I thought I would have to use the GFM as a down payment, but I saw no other choice. The GFM has been and still is our lifeline. It has been the only way we have survived financially through these months, but I also knew that it was all for nothing if I didn’t have a place for her to live when we left Shepherd Center. I knew I had to take that leap. Little did I know that later the same day, God would send his angels in the form of a beautiful couple with hearts bigger than I could have ever imagined possible, and they offered to purchase the house for Caitlin. And then they actually did it! I will forever live in a space of humble gratitude."

Caitlin Jensen's slow but steady recovery gave Darlene hope

Previously, Darlene had recalled the horrifying call she received from Harpham. "I just thought maybe she was dizzy," she had said, according to the Daily Mail. "It didn't ever occur to me that it was a serious event. I just thought maybe she stood up too fast or she was slightly dizzy and they were being over cautious," the mom said.

However, Jensen's slow but steady recovery gave her mother hope. A few months ago, the young woman was able to complete sitting practices without assistance, and also take her first steps with a walking harness. She also took pottery classes where she was able to paint a vase.
