'No different from part-time job terrorism': Cafe fires waitress for 'mixing her blood' in cocktails
SAPPORO, HOKKAIDO: A young Japanese waitress is facing consequences after she was found to have mixed her own blood in the cocktails of customers without their knowledge. The Mondaiji Con Cafe Daku in Sapporo, Hokkaido, took to Twitter to reveal that they have fired that server while also releasing an apology. The drink, called orikaku, or original cocktails usually possess fruits or other colorful syrups.
While announcing that they have dismissed the young woman after learning about the gruesome cocktail additions, the cafe whose name loosely translates to 'Problem Child Concept Café' also addressed customers' concerns. "Such an act is no different from part-time job terrorism and is absolutely not acceptable," the cafe tweeted on April 2, as per Insider. The store owner also confirmed that the outlet was shut down for a day to replace every drinking glass. The name of the server involved was not revealed in the statement.

Mondaiji Con Cafe Daku or Problem Child Dark Cafe
The Mondaiji Con Cafe Daku (Problem Child Dark Cafe) in Japan is a themed eatery where ‘mentally unstable’ and ‘problematic’ girls dressed in dark, goth-style attires serve as waitresses, as per Oddity Central. It is famous for its 2,500 yen ($19) per hour all-you-can-drink menu. As per the outlet, the young woman, who evidently took her role a little too far, was asked to add her blood at the request of a customer. However, as soon as the gory incident reached the management, the server was fired.
'Part-time job terrorism'
The cafe owner apologized to the customers for the incident in a tweet. "Please allow me to continue running the store for a little longer so that I can be happy alone. We will hire a contractor to clean the store, change glasses, and dispose of alcoholic beverages that may have been contaminated. Once again, I am very sorry to have caused you trouble this time," the tweet read. The owner called the act "part-time job terrorism."
Doctor advises patrons to get blood tested
Following the news, Dr Zento Kitao asked both the waitress and the patrons to get blood tested, stating that "drinking the blood of other people is an extremely dangerous act." Speaking to the Japanese Magazine Flash, Dr Kitao said: "Cases of people getting infected from drinking another person’s blood are rare, but major diseases can be transmitted through blood, including HIV, Hepatitis C, Hepatitis B, and syphilis. If there are wounds in the mouth, it is easy to be infected by blood transmissions."
