'Bull' star Mackenzie Meehan says her character Taylor Rentzel will be 'fighting to do the right thing' in season 4

The actor also added Rentzel, who joined in season 3, would be looking at deepening her relationships with the team

Mackenzie Meehan turned a professional actor when she was 11 and dreamt to be a series regular on a hit series. That dream was realized when she signed up for 'Bull' as Taylor Rentzel in season 3. She is now all set to reprise her role in the upcoming season.  And while at it, she also mentions her initial reaction was an "audible scream somewhere in a park" when she heard that she'd be back.

'Bull' follows the employees at Trial Analysis Corporation (TAC), a jury consulting firm headed by Dr. Jason Bull (Michael Weatherly),  a psychologist and trial science, expert. Bull uses his skills and those of his team not only to select the right jurors for his clients but also to help his clients' lawyers decide which type of argument will win over jurors best.

In an exclusive with MEA WorldWide (MEAWW), Meehan spoke about her character Rentzel on the show, her thoughts on season 4 and her off-screen dynamics with the cast and crew. When asked about Rentzel's role in the new installment, Meehan explained that the character would be looking at deepening her relationships with the team. "Since Taylor has proved herself to be a valuable asset to the TAC team, it seems she's getting more comfortable speaking her mind on the cases they take on," she said. "I've also noticed her relationships with the other TAC team are deepening and she is forming true friendships with them".

Three seasons of 'Bull' have seen the team take on some really controversial cases— Espionage, family deals gone sour and a bunch of cases that need an impeccable eye for detail. Meehan, however, says season 4 will be about the lives of the TAC team. "Along with the usual brilliant writing and controversial cases Dr. Bull agrees to take on, you will see more of the lives of the TAC team outside of work."

Meehan also added she was able to connect to her character on a personal level. "Being a working mom who cares deeply about her son and crushing it at her job. We both want to be the best at both and find it's a tough and sometimes impossible balance to strike. Also, this season we are really seeing more of Taylor's sense of integrity and fighting to do "the right thing" even when it may create tension at TAC. My values line up with hers in every way and it's thrilling to play scenes with so much personal truth and conviction. Lastly, we both love listening to loud music and dance when we are at work."

Co-stars feel like family to Meehan. "We talk openly about our lives outside of the show and support each other when times are tough. On-camera we often have so much fun that we sometimes get into laughing fits and have to "cut" so we can pull it together. It's a dreamy cast and crew," she said signing off.

'Bull' Season 4 premieres  September 23, 2019, on CBS.
