'Feel for this momma': Internet sympathizes with Bryan Kohberger's mom after her rumored post surfaces

MOSCOW, IDAHO: A social media post, believed to be written by University of Idaho murder suspect Bryan Kohberger's mother, MaryAnn, has surfaced online and is invoking strong responses from netizens. Kohberger,  a 28-year-old criminology student, was arrested on December 30, 2022. His mother, MaryAnn, 63, is a paraprofessional who instructs pupils under the direction of trained teachers.

Apart from Idaho murder suspect, MaryAnn also has two daughters — Amanda and Melissa — and is reportedly a loving, soft-spoken person. Bryan has been charged with the brutal murder of four students -  Ethan Chapin, 20, Xana Kernodle, 20, Madison Mogen, 21, and Kaylee Goncalves, 21. He is scheduled to next appear in court on June 26.

Recently, a Twitter user, who goes by the name, 'Nerdy Addict', posted a picture of a message believed to have been written by MaryAnn. "Alleged account used by Bryan Kohberger’s mother shows a normal mother who was fiercely proud of her son. However some posts can be used to compliment timelines and dates for where Kohberger travelled and when," the user captioned the post. 

Part of the message seen in the picture that was allegedly posted from MaryAnn's account, reads, "I am super happy getting ready for my son's visit home in a week or so! Miss him so much!" However, it has not been verified if the post is indeed from Bryan Kohberger's mother's account.

Commenting on the Tweet, one user wrote, "He was really far away from home for the first time. In another state. I feel for this momma." A second Twitteratti commented, "That poor mom ! She loved him so much." "It’s very sad for his family," wrote a third. 

Last week, a thread on a Reditt sub dedicated to the discussion of Bryan Kohberger had claimed to have identified MaryAnn's user account. Sharing a thread, titled, "Bryan's mother's Reddit posts?" the Redditor wrote that the now deleted user, u/DowntonLove, is believed to be by Bryan's mother. The user made the inference from a couple of posts that were seen on the user's account, one of which read, "Hello friends! Today my 26 year old son left for Washington state to begin his doctorate in criminology! We live in Pennsylvania. I probably wont be submitting many designs in the next few days because l will be too busy crying! I will see you all soon!"
