Bryan Kohberger's ‘lover’ Brittney J Hislope was once ‘obsessed with shooting convict Cody Hall’

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: The mother of Cody Hall, who received 23 years in jail for the 2017 Pulaski County shooting and machete attack, has spoken to a psychiatrist Dr Carole Lieberman after Bryan Kohberger's “lover” Brittney J Hislope made the news. Hislope has created numerous posts on her Facebook page, describing her love and admiration for the Idaho quadruple murder accused.
Her bizarre online activity has shocked many, with many wondering how someone can even like a person accused of killing Madison Mogen, Ethan Chapin, Kaylee Goncalves, and Xana Kernodle on November 13, 2022. But Hall’s mother Donna Hubbard has an answer to that as she gave an interview to Lieberman.

‘She loved him more than she loved her own child’
Hubbard told Lieberman, “My son was convicted of murder, something I’m not proud of, but it is what it is. She [Hislope] became obsessed with him. Showed up at his court hearings, went to the jail, put money on his books. He was gonna play her along for commissary, again not proud, but she showed up for a visit one day and told him she loved him more than she loved her own child.”
The woman continued, “That was finally when my son said enough. She would not stop. I finally recorded a video of him telling her he wanted nothing to do with her because when I told her she said I was a liar.”
“After watching the video, she claimed the jail and me made him record it. She definitely has mental health issues and extreme narcissism,” Hubbard asserted, before blaming the system for her son’s situation. She added, “If they hadn't let him fall through the cracks, he wouldn't be in prison today.”
‘You've been misunderstood, too’
This comes as earlier in February, Lieberman, who has written the book ‘Bad Boys: Why We Love Them, how to Live with Them, and when to Leave Them’ along with journalist Lisa Collier Cool, wrote an open letter to Hislope. The letter published by Newsweek read, “Dear Brittney, I understand you have been writing to Bryan Kohberger in jail in Idaho, the man accused of murdering four college students. Although some people have put you down for doing this, mocking you or telling you that it's just plain wrong to do so, you know he is your one true love and that your love is very real. You feel he's lonely and sad in jail, and that no one understands him like you do.”
She also noted, “You feel your letters are helping him survive in there and giving him hope. I know, because I've talked to, and written about women like you, who write to guys in jail. You want to rescue Bryan. You feel he's been misunderstood all his life. You know what that feels like because you've been misunderstood, too. You've heard that he's been rejected and hurt by girls and you get that because you've been rejected and hurt by boys.”
The medical doctor added, “Have you thought about the fact that he may have other women writing to him, too? Other women who have fallen in love with him, like you? You might never know about this until you've wasted years pining for him. If it makes you happy to keep writing to Bryan in the meantime, fine, but—with therapy—you'll discover that a man who is already out in the real world will make you even happier. And you deserve it.”
