MONROE COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA: Following the breakthrough in the Idaho quadruple murders by arresting the suspect Christopher Kohberger, 28, from Pennsylvania over 2000 miles from the murder scene, the suspect is likely going to deny the allegations. In a bid to speed up his extradition to Idaho, he intends to waive those hearings in Pennsylvania so as to work with the police to clear his name from the case. A report quoting the Chief public defender of Monroe County Jason LaBar stated that Kohberger was 'shocked' and that he looks forward to resolving these matters as soon as possible.

Kohberger, a PhD student in criminology at Washington State University, resided at Pullman apartments in Washington, about 10 miles or 15 minutes drive from the crime site at 1122 Kings Road off-campus housing. Kohberger was arrested on four counts of murder and burglary in connection with the deaths of Ethan Chapin, 20, Xana Kernodle, 20, Kaylee Goncalves, 21, and Madison Mogen, 21.

Kohberger intends to waive his extradition hearing to expedite his transport to Idaho, the defense attorney LaBar said in an emailed statement to CNN. LaBar said adding, "Kohberger is eager to be exonerated of these charges and looks forward to resolving these matters as promptly as possible.” Kohberger was arraigned in Pennsylvania on Friday morning and is being detained without bail.

LaBar claimed he spoke with Kohberger for about an hour Friday evening, discussing his whereabouts at the time of the killings.“Knowing of course that it’s likely they have location data from his cell phone already putting him on the border of Washington and Idaho,” LaBar told the station. "It was an easy decision obviously, since he doesn’t contest that he is Bryan Kohberger.”

The defense chief said that Kohberger is "shocked a little bit, He's doing Ok. Obviously, he’s calm right now.” LaBar also said that they don't know much about the case and that he didn't want to discuss it with the suspect since he is a mere representative.“We don’t really know much about the case. I don’t have any affidavit or probable cause. I didn’t want to discuss the case with him because I’m merely his representation for this procedural issue as to whether or not he wants to be extradited back to Idaho.”

Like several other reports, LaBar also described Bryan Kohberger as "Very Intelligent" and described the family: “They’re also very shocked,” he said. “Out of character for Bryan… The FBI, local police, and Idaho State Troopers were at their house at approximately 3 am yesterday knocking on the door and announcing themselves to enter, out of real shock and awe to them.”
