MOSCOW, IDAHO: Just four days after allegedly stabbing four University of Idaho students to death, suspect Bryan Kohberger attended a routine medical appointment near his apartment. A receptionist at the office revealed that Kohberger was noticeably friendly at his appointment.
Kohberger, 28, has been accused of fatally stabbing Kaylee Goncalves, 21, Madison Mogen, 21, Xana Kernodle, 20, and Ethan Chapin, 20, in their off-campus three-story rented home on November 13, 2022. He was arrested in Albrightsville, Pennsylvania, on December 30.

The receptionist, who refused to be named, told Insider that Kohberger was so friendly that her boss even commented on it. "She said, 'He's so nice and charming' — she never says that about anybody," the receptionist said. "I was like, 'Yeah, he really was.'"
Even after the murders, Kohberger continued to live a normal life, working as a teacher's assistant on campus. He was a PhD student in Washington State University’s Department of Criminal Justice and Criminology. It has been revealed that Kohberger returned to the crime scene area and may even have stalked their homes about 12 times before the attack. His cell phone pinged its location in the area of the house where the crimes were committed at around 9 am on November 13, which was just five hours after he killed the students, according to the New York Post.
Social media users discussed Kohberger's medical appointment, noting narcissists can be charming. "That's what he does. He likes to charm people & use his charm to get people & read their thoughts & mind to manipulate anyone. That's what criminals do since he was studying criminology & was a PhD in psychology," one user commented. Another said, "Narcissists are extremely “charming”." "Article states routine appointment. I’m sure that doctor will be called by prosecution if BK had any injuries or by the defense if he had none. Going to be somebody’s witness," one user noted.
"Probably went to get some anti psychs a little too late," one user said, while another wrote, "everything he's done after just makes him look more suspicious, I think he went to make a point, tell the police he was there and that he was ok , no marks on him etc so the doctors can vouch for him". "Am I wrong to think he did this too show he had no marks etc…chatty so they would recall the visit as normal or pleasant?" said one user.
Kohberger was arrested more than 2,000 miles away from where the murders took place and agreed to be extradited to Idaho from Pennsylvania. His lawyer reportedly said that he was shocked after being arrested and was reportedly planning to deny the murders. The weapon used to stab the students to death is believed to be a fixed-blade Ka-Bar-style knife. He was reportedly charged with four counts of murder in the first degree as well as felony burglary in connection with the deaths of the four students.
