Jessie Ho: Shark attack victim Simon Nellist's heartbroken fiancee 'can't return home'

Experts now claim that the ferocious shark probably mistook the swimmer wearing a wetsuit for a seal and launched an attack on the diver

Shark attack victim Simon Nellist, 35 who died on Wednesday is now being mourned by his family, girlfriend and friends. His tragic death has already stunned other divers at the bay, as Simon was considered as one of the experienced and smartest divers in the group. After his death, Simon's girlfriend has been left unable to return home as she is reportedly dealing with a traumatic heartbreak. 

Jessie Ho, who was supposed to marry Simon in 2 months is living in despair and guilt of losing her dearest soul. Ho hasn't gone back to the home she shared with Simon Nellist, from Cornwall, after he was killed by a Great White Shark. One of her closest pals said, She has been left "heartbroken and in shock" after the RAF veteran- who did two tours in Afghanistan - died on Wednesday. Due to Covid restrictions in the previous year, the couple postponed their marriage to this year and were just months away from tying the knot.

Nellist always referred to his fiance as "the girl of his dreams" and was always close to her. His parents, Mike and Rosemary, are believed to be flying in from the UK to comfort Jessie after they paid tribute to him on Saturday. Simon was attacked by a 15ft great white shark as he trained for a charity ocean swim in the sea off Sydney. It was the first fatal shark attack in Sydney in almost 60 years. The RAF hero was just 150m away from the beach at Buchan Point, near Little Bay in Sydney, but unfortunately, his fate had something else destined for him.

The British diver's remains were found in the water on Wednesday afternoon following the horror ordeal which was caught on camera. His family paid tribute, describing him as "funny and compassionate" and a "very talented photographer". The family told the BBC: "Simon was a gentle, kind and wonderful human being. He was a cherished fiancée, son, brother, uncle and friend. Simon was funny, compassionate and always had time for people. He had a rare gift of instantly being able to connect with others, gaining their trust and respect." Simon's family said he was a "proud Cornishman" who had made Australia his home with his fiancée Jessie.

The bereaved family also added that "Simon had a great passion for nature and the sea, as well as being a very talented photographer. we will miss him terribly! "   Responding to this tragic demise, not only his family but also his closest friends came forward to share their love and respect for him.  “Simon was amazing. That’s all there is to say really. He was just the best. He was the nicest, kindest human. It is a huge loss." they said. His friends revealed Simon "fell in love" with Australia after going traveling around six years ago, following service in the RAF. Experienced swimmer Simon "really knew the water", they explained to the SUN.

The witnesses who were present at the spot said that they heard Simon yell out for help in desperation as the shark pounced just after 4.30pm on Wednesday  The great white allegedly "attacked vertically" before dragging the man's body out of the ocean. Experts now claim that the ferocious shark probably mistook the swimmer wearing a wetsuit for a seal and launched an attack on the diver.
