LONDON, ENGLAND: 'Bridgerton' Season 3 has left fans with a mix of emotions. While viewers are pleased that Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton) and Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan) finally get their happy ending, Benedict Bridgerton's (Luke Thompson) character arc has become a major talking point this season as we anticipate him to take the center stage in Season 4.

Additionally, there are significant developments in the lives of Francesca (Hannah Dodd), Violet (Ruth Gemmell), and Eloise Bridgerton (Claudia Jessie).

Everything seems perfect, except how things turn out between Eloise and Cressida Cowper (Jessica Madsen).

Diverting from Julia Quinn's book series, Netflix's 'Bridgerton' established a friendly bond between Cressida and Eloise.

This was quite surprising for the fans as Eloise had explicitly mentioned before that she would rather die than be friends with Cressida. However, after her falling out with Penelope in Season 2, Eloise had struck up a genuine friendship with Cressida.

Even though they had nothing in common, viewers started rooting for their newfound friendship. Influenced by Eloise's goodness, Cressida was finally turning into a better person and she had even stopped bullying Penelope.

Meanwhile, Eloise had begun to see events in society through a different perspective. In short, they were perfect for each other.

When Part 1 of Season 3 was released, fans took to Reddit to share how much they adore Eloise and Cressida's bond.

Someone wrote, "Im so excited to see how the show will portray such friendship!!! Im rooting for it but tbh im still a bit miffed that Eloise chose her ex-best-friend's literal bully to form a new solid friendship."

"Their friendship is one of the things I look forward to in S3," added another excited fan.

A fan even expressed that Eloise and Cressida "have more chemistry than Colin and Pen."

However, the events in Season 3 Part 2 has turned down their hopes.

What happens to Cressida Cowper and Eloise Bridgerton's friendship in 'Bridgerton' Season 3?

As Part 2 opened with Episode 5 of Season 3, we began getting hints that Eloise and Cressida's friendship wouldn't last long.

While Cressida struggled with her own issues at home and attempted to confide in Eloise on multiple occasions, Eloise paid little attention and never truly understood what Cressida was going through.

Instead, Eloise's focus was entirely on Colin and Penelope's relationship. In these moments, we couldn't help but feel sympathy for Cressida, who was left all alone in her time of crisis.

So when Cressida felt that there was no way out, she did the unimaginable. At Colin and Penelope's engagement party, she announced herself as Lady Whistledown.

On Colin's suggestion, she ended her friendship with Cressida and didn't feel bad about it even for a moment.

Cressida was seen clearly upset to have lost a friend as she mentioned later to her mother that Eloise was the only one who was a good friend to her.

On the other hand, Eloise seemed unaffected, making us wonder if it was just a rebound friendship for her.

While it may be upsetting for those who were rooting for Cressida and Eloise, fans of Penelope are happy who has just gotten her best friend back.
