'Bridgerton' Season 2 Episode 6: Will Edwina marry Anthony? Diamond takes SHOCKING decision
In the ending moments of Episode 5, we saw Lord Anthony Bridgerton (Jonathan Bailey) making a drastic decision of proposing Edwina Sharma (Charithra Chandran) in front of everyone. The proposal happened after Daphne (Phoebe Dynevor) saw Anthony and Kate Sharma getting close to each other. They were going to kiss each other when Daphne came to take his brother out and that’s when the last season’s Diamond told him to do the right thing and listen to his heart. However, he decided to mask his feelings for Kate and proposed to Edwina.
As soon as he proposes to her, both families start preparing for the big day. The Sharma Family is applying the mixture of turmeric and milk to Edwina’s body, something that happens before every Indian wedding. On the other hand, Anthony has called a tailor for creating a perfect suit for that day. Everything is going how Edwina hoped it for. But Anthony and Kate (Simone Ashley) have feelings for each other, so it might create a problem on the big day.

The day of the marriage has arrived and everyone has come to see the nuptials because the Queen herself is overseeing everything. She has her own reasons for doing so and hopes to know the real identity of Lady Whistledown. Nevertheless, the spotlight is on Edwina and Anthony. The groom arrives at the venue and the entire Bridgerton Family is happy to see him finally entering this phase of life. A few moments later, Edwina, along with her mother, walks down the aisle with a huge smile on her face.
The duo stands in front of each other, but Anthony and Kate keep looking at each other. Everything changes when the Father wants Anthony to repeat what he says and all he can do is stare at Kate. Edwina makes him realize that he needs to say those things. At the very exact moment, the bangle Kate is wearing falls down from her right wrist and Anthony wasted no time in picking it up while holding Kate’s arm. Edwina gets to know everything and realizes what she was doing. She gets really nervous and leaves the venue, making everyone feels really uncomfortable. Her mother and sister follow as they try talking to her after she walked away from the venue. Edwina is angry with what has happened and accuses her sister of not telling the truth. She says that Kate has feelings for the Viscount and did not have the purest of intentions for her. Edwina believed that Kate hated Anthony because her feelings were strong for him and asks her if she loves him. Kate is unable to answer that question and Edwina is distressed by the whole situation.
Meanwhile, the Bridgertons ask Anthony about what happened and he looks at Daphne before leaving the room. Lady Violet asks Daphne if she knows something and Daphne tells her everything. Anthony meets Edwina and says if she has taken a decision. However, Edwina asks him if they get married, will there be any interference? Anthony understood what she meant and told her that her sister won’t be a part of their future because she’ll leave for India and won’t come here. They will make sure that there are no talks about her.
But the season's Diamond is not happy with the answer and asks if he loves her. To which, the Viscount replies, “I understand you”. Edwina knew that even if they get married, love is something that might not be a part of their union.
In the end, Edwina calls Kate and Anthony to the venue of the wedding and announces her decision of not marrying the Viscount. She says that she can’t betray herself by marrying him. Meanwhile, she told Kate how she gave her everything she really wanted for herself. So, she made sure that whatever she is leaving behind is not her loss, but Kate’s.
Kate and Anthony talk to each and Kate tells the Viscount that they are failures. She says “goodbye” to Anthony and they finally take the liberty of having their first good and passionate kiss.
The episode ends with Kate and Anthony holding each other’s hands.
