What led to Brian Walshe's arrest? Husband of missing mom Ana charged with murder
QUINCY, MASSACHUSETTS: Brian Walshe has been charged with murder on Tuesday, January 17, over the disappearance of his wife Ana Walshe, according to a warrant issued from Quincy District Court, announced Massachusetts officials. He was already under custody as he was charged with misleading the investigation to find his wife who went missing on January 1, 2023.
Ana, 39, was first reported missing by her employer on January 4 after she failed to appear at work in Washington, D.C. However, Brian has not reported her missing until later that day. He told the cops that relating to a 'work emergency', his wife left their Cohasset home on January 1 and he has not seen her since she left the home for the airport.

What led to Brian's arrest?
Walshe's arrest comes after the police learned about his search on the internet looking for 'how to dispose of a 115-pound woman's body'. On Monday, January 9, along with the police canines, investigators conducted a search near Walshe's mother's home in Peabody. Cops found a hatchet, a hacksaw, a rug, trash bags, and used cleaning supplies at a dumpster station, not far from Ana's house in Swampscott, 14 miles north of Boston, according to Daily Mail.
Michael W. Morrissey, the Norfolk District Attorney stated that Walshe was handed a further arrest warrant for murder. Following federal fraud charges in 2021 to which the 47-year-old father of three has pled guilty, he was already under house arrest with an ankle monitor. On January 8, he was again taken into custody after his wife mysteriously vanished.
No further details on the investigation have been released as it remains unclear if the investigators have found supporting evidence or discovered missing Ana's body. Brian's arraignment on the murder charge is reportedly set to be on Wednesday, January 18, as per ABC report.
Notably, a police report was filed against Brian in August 2014 when he allegedly threatened to kill Ana, according to Washington D.C. Cops stated that the case was closed as at the time his wife refused to press charges against him.
At present, Brian who is taken into custody is being held on a $500,000 bond and has not pleaded guilty. As the missing probe continues, the couple's three young sons remain in custody.
