An official statement released by Michael Morrissey, Norfolk District Attorney claimed, "Cohasset and Massachusetts State Police have Maken Brian Walshe, 46, of Cohasset, Mass., into custody charging him with misleading a police investigation. Cohasset and Massachusetts State Police continue to investigate the disappearance of Ana Walshe, 39, of Cohasset. During the course of that investigation, police developed probable cause to believe that her husband Brian Walshe had committed the crime of misleading police investigators. Mr. Walshe is expected to be arraigned in the morning session of the Quincy District Court tomorrow, January 9, 2023; additional facts may or may not be entered into the record at that time, but no further information is expected to be released at this time. As with all criminal matters, every defendant enjoys the Constitutional presumption of innocence until proven guilty."

Ana is of Serbian descent was reported missing in the Massachusetts town on Wednesday, January 5 by her husband and her employer, Tishman Speyer. She is a graduate of Cornell University and has worked in the real estate industry after obtaining a degree from the University of Belgrade. Tishman Speyer also claimed in a recent official statement, "We are actively assisting the local authorities in their ongoing search for our beloved colleague, Ana, and are praying for her safe return." Brian also has a history of crime. He is currently awaiting sentencing in a fraud that involved the sale of two fake Andy Warhol 'Shadow Paintings' to a South Korean buyer for $80,000.

Meanwhile, according to Fox News, one of her friends, Evan Turell, said, "She's a powerful executive, she's a loving mom, she's just loving wife, she's one of the most remarkable humans we know, and we've very scared. We miss her a lot and we're just praying for her to be safe. Everyone that knows and loves Ana, we just want her home safely. Her husband and her boys were someone she talked to every single day and the fact that she hasn't been in touch with them is concerning and it's not like her to not be in touch with anyone. It's just really scary." However, on Sunday, January 8, Brian was seen driving to Boston in a red Volkswagen away from home in Cohasset.

'Shocker of the century'

The Internet quickly reacted to the arrest of Brian Walshe. A user said, "No one is shocked. It’s always the same story.". Another added,"Sadly these details no longer come as a surprise." "What a shocker. not the shady husband," read a tweet. A comment read, "And they always think they’re smart enough to get away with it. I swear, don’t any of these people watch Dateline?." "Where are those poor little children???," wrote another. A user claimed, "So sad, why do ppl think they can kill their spouse and get away with it! And now the boys won’t have any parent in their lives." Another wondered, "i wonder if this is why they separated his children from him earlier today." "Shocker of the century," wrote a user. A user doubted, "My problem is how do we know she was even seen on new years besides by him? Unfortunately I don’t take his mothers word as fact she said she saw her leave at 4am and that can’t be proven either."
