Brian Laundrie may 'look like a homeless person' while on the run, says sketch expert
With the whole nation on the lookout for Brian Laundrie, numerous sightings of him have been reported over the past several weeks. But according to one expert, there's a good reason those tips may not have panned out. Guinness World Record holder Lois Gibson believes that "life will be hard for Brian Laundrie right now. Very hard. And that will show in the form of weight loss." But it's not just that, Gibson went on to detail other physical changes Laundrie would have undergone.
Since he was reported missing on September 17, Laundrie has allegedly been spotted in several states. There were some tips he was still at the Carlton Reserve in Florida, where the FBI is focusing their search. On October 2, he was reportedly spotted at a motel in Cambridge, Ohio. Then footage emerged indicating he was in the Thunder Ridge Wilderness area in Virginia.

A Brian Laundrie lookalike cop was also spotted chatting with Chris Laundrie at the Carlton Reserve, while another had to make a viral TikTok after many confused him for the on-the-run man. Almost all these examples have one thing in common - they are based on what people believe Laundrie looks like from his Instagram photos with Gabby Petito. Gibson says that's a big mistake, and that living on the run would have had a "series of specific effects" on Laundrie.
Laundrie's new look
For starters, Gibson believes Laundrie would have lost considerable weight. "He will have lost a bunch of weight. Even if he's got a bunch of money on him - it's hard to eat when you're on the run. It gnaws away at you," she explained. She guessed he would have lost somewhere between 10 to 15 pounds. Added to that, she also says living outdoors would have been pretty tough on his skin. "When you're out in the open like that, you're going to get a lot of extra sun to the point of suffering some skin damage. He's likely to have a lot of redness or rosacea across his face, like sometimes how you see on a homeless person."
Gibson also urged people to consider the deliberate changes Laundrie would have made, like shaving his moustache and beard. "Because his beard and mustache are very, very distinctive, I believe he would've shaved pretty quickly," she said, adding, "He'd be crazy if he didn't shave." Gibson also said he could consider changing his hairstyle a bit, possibly by growing it out or even changing the color. "He should let his hair grow, but hair only grows about a third of an inch each month, so he's probably got barely any hair grown out at the moment," she noted.
So if you are wondering how to spot Laundrie, it's worth taking a look at Gibson's sketches. She shared three sketches with The Sun to show what Laundrie would be like now, nearly a month after he went missing. She also urged people to look out for guys with baseball hats, noting, "About 90 percent of crooks on the run wear a baseball cap when they're trying to get away or hide their features." "You could also safely bet that he's probably wearing sunglasses. They've been used as a form of disguise ever since they were invented," she added.
Apart from caps and sunglasses, Gibson also urged people to pay attention to Laundrie's teeth and ears. She said he has "unusual dentition" which shows when he talks or smiles. Along with that, there's really nothing people can do to change their ears, so it's another key feature to look out for. Gibson also believes he could be hiding out on the Appalachian train, so anyone visiting the area soon should keep their eyes peeled.
