Bigger than Brad Pitt! Brendan Fraser desperate to regain six-pack abs after dream comeback
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Brendan Fraser made a startling comeback with his Oscar-winning blockbuster ‘The Whale’, which saw him gain heavy weight for the portrayal of his obese character. However, now after reigniting his career, the 54-year-old actor is desperate to get back into his chiseled ‘George of the Jungle’ body, according to reports.
The ‘Mummy Returns’ star “has been quietly hitting the gym again, trying to get his old body back,” an insider close to the star told Radar Online. “He wants to lose weight the natural way, not resort to Ozempic or weight-loss surgery. But at 54, it’s not exactly a piece of cake.” The tipster also noted that Fraser enjoys being back in the spotlight after spending years away from it and will stop at nothing to maintain his position.

'His star will rise even higher'
“If he can get back into his George of the Jungle body, his star will rise even higher,” said a Hollywood source. “At the end of the day, Hollywood has always been more about looks than talent. If Brendan can get his six-pack abs back, ironically, he would be BIGGER than Brad Pitt.” Fraser is now enjoying a flourishing career after he won the Best Actor Oscar for his work in ‘The Whale’. ‘The Whale’ sees Fraser playing a 300-pound man named Charlie who lives in isolation and wants to reconnect with his estranged daughter Ellie (Sadie Sink). Charlie has gained a lot of weight after the tragic death of his partner.
What did Brendan Fraser say about the prosthetic suit?
Fraser achieved his obese look with the help of a bulky prosthetic suit. Talking to Vanity Fair, the ‘Bedazzled’ star spoke about the struggle of playing the obese role, stating that it used to take six hours for his make-up team to put the prosthetic suit on. “I looked at other body suits that had been used in comedies over the years, usually for a one-note joke. Whether intended or not, the joke is, it defies gravity. This was not that,” he stated. Fraser called the suit “beautiful and arresting,” adding it was “not exactly comfortable” while on set.
Following ‘The Whale’s release, critics slammed the film’s director over the use of the prosthetic suit but Fraser gave them a befitting reply. “I respect those who don’t see eye to eye with the aims of this film. I don’t agree with them because I know that there’s no ill intent. I know I want to know if I — me, Brendan — have done any harm. But the answer I got from the OAC was, ‘Keep doing what you’re doing.’ We made the movie we wanted to make, and we made it correctly. And I stand by that,” Fraser told Los Angeles Times while replying to the criticism.
