'Breeders' Episode 8 Preview: Could Paul and Ally's wedding take a backseat as their family problems escalate?
It’s finally happening! After years of back and forth, Paul and Ally are getting married. Despite Ally constantly avoiding the topic and refusing to fall for the conventional practice, Paul remained persistent.
Eventually, he managed to persuade her and she accepted the proposal. But this isn't a normal couple and a normal wedding we are talking about.
Neither are Paul and Ally like most other couples you see around nor is their family like the ones you would expect. They are dysfunctional in every definition of it. And after so many years of living together, raising children, and managing the ordeals of running a household, they appear more beaten down than any other married couple.
But most importantly, they have been so much into this as a team that it doesn’t ever feel that they need the legal/social validation of "marriage". The previous episode was all about Paul trying to propose to Ally and make their relationship more concrete.
Although neither of them ever felt the need, it was more of taking the next big step. In the upcoming episode 'No Honeymoon', we will get to see how the wedding pans out. However, it will not be as easy as it seems or sounds, because this family is anything but easy.
As the promo reveals, Paul is constantly pushed around by his parents on the whole wedding thing and he is already frustrated, especially with his mother wondering why they should even get married after all that they are now.
Ally, on the other hand, seems to be distracted by work, thus giving very little attention to what needs to be done for the big day. To make matters worse, Luke comes up with his own set of problems. Here's what you can expect from the upcoming episode.
The preview shows that Paul and Ally are called in by Luke's teacher and complained about their son's violent behavior. Surprisingly, this is the first time Luke has attacked another child instead of getting beaten over.
His parents seem to be relieved to hear that their child has finally learned to protect himself but also worried with his misbehavior at school. In the trailer, we see both Paul and Ally trying to give Luke an earful in their very unique and unconventional way of parenting.
Luke seems to not understand a word of it and thus, their struggle continues. The question is, will these never-ending household and parenting issues stop Paul and Ally from thinking about their relationship? If so, then could the wedding take a backseat?
We'll find out on 'Breeders' Episode 8 when it airs on Monday, April 12, at 10 pm/9c on FX.
